Just to let you know for the future the oil pan is supposed to go on first before the front and rear cover. Those seals will prematurely leak. Sometimes people get lucky but for others put the oil pan on first. They have alignment tools just for this purpose.

Had to use the universal clutch alignment tool once. Pretty straightforward. I ended up buying one for myself afterward. Can’t wait to see this thing drive🤙

Just FYI. Regardless if you're mating eng/tranny in the car or out of the car. Always buy longer bolts with same size and threads as your trans bolts. 2" and 4" longer bolts usually does the trick, the longer bolts act like pilot bolts. Less effort if you have a floor jack or scissor jacks to hold the trans up and onto the longer pilot bolts. Anyway, thx for the vid

Pro tip put the motor on the ground when you put the trans on when you have the motor in the air with no one to hold it it does this angle /| when mating when it can’t move it’s easy as pie

Hey men nice video! I think you used cx racing engine mount?. Did the trans mount bolt on the same place as stock? So same drive Shaft?

Yeah I used the same Zf driveshaft. There’s some adjustability with the driveshaft where the carrier bearing is.

I need help finding a adapter for my f01 bmw. I’m trying to mate an Ls with my zf6hp26 but can’t find adapter kits for my transmission. Please point me in the right direction.

I'd hit up pmc adapters and see if this is an option.

Are there dowel pins that align the engine adapter plate to the transmission adapter plate when you assemble the transmission to the engine?

There aren’t any dowels. You kindve push it in and then run a couple bolts lol

Since the fbody is rear sump, it should work. I have an fbody one in the garage as well as an additional Holley pan. I could take a side by side pic?

Drift hq will help sort all the items needed for the swap. They were super helpful. I believe I used the Pmc adapter for ls to Zf and an act clutch for like a 323ci

Did you have to modiffy the stock trans mount?

This is just the adapter for ls motor to BMW Zf5 transmission. I don't believe it fits the getrag tranny

Thanks for the info. I guess I was more asking which ZF trans the bracket is for. On the PMC website it says it’s for the ZF in a 328i and 330i but I’ve also seen that it only works for those trans in diesel cars. Was this a gas 328i trans in the video?

Oof. I'm not sure about Getrag because used a ZF tranny and the clutch is from like a 335i and pressure plate from a 323ci lol

I drove it running and driving into the shop and one wire cut lead to another and then full Ls swap started.

We can all agree it looks like the gym muscles are just for show
