LS Swap Steps for OBS Chevy in 11 minutes! *v6 to v8 w/ nv3500*

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Quick walkthrough of the steps taken to LS swap my '95 chevy 1500. This truck was a 4.3 v6 with nv3500 5-speed. We replaced the 4.3 with a 5.3 out of a 2001 Tahoe and reused the stock 5 speed. Comment with any questions and I will do my best to try and answer them.

The radiator is from a obs C3500 heavy duty pickup truck easily found at an U pull it junkyard. Even if you don’t want a used radiator you can at least get the stock radiator mount brackets from the junkyard. But I’d just look for a 1995 Chevy C3500 radiator to buy a new one.

Since you made this video about a year ago, can you give us an update on how the vehicle is doing and whether you use it as a daily driver? Cool Cars KJ if you haven’t checked out LT1 swap.com before there’s tons of info on there. That’s where I learned to do a stand alone harness when I helped swap a 4.8 into my dad’s 81 c10.

More videos of this truck man! I want to see how good it pulls. Have an 05 5.3 I'm gathering parts for to drop in my 92 c1500. Plan to reuse my nv3500 until I can afford a t56 magnum. Will be adding some boost too, sloppy mechanics style eventually. Will be a big upgrade over the mild cam carbed 350 vortec I have in it now.

You're gonna love it. The nv3500 is definitely the weak link but it still pulls good. I'll get some footage up soon!
