This just turns on the simulator. If you want have 3D when you’re on the water in your boat,...you need to buy the Structure Scan 3D module and the Transducer. Another $1000.00 dollars. I bought mine a month ago. This video just gives you a demo glimpse of what the 3D looks like. When you install your structure scan 3D, Pay an tension to how you install the 3D module. We’re talking about the power cord from the 3D module (this is in the installation guide). The red goes to positive, the black goes to Negative,...and yes, the yellow wire ALSO goes to the Positive. Without the yellow connected to the Hot(positive) the module doesn’t know that it has to wake up and do work when the Fishfinder gets its 3D button pushed.

You also said "you have to turn simulate on" and gave instructions how to fix a black screen. not sure why you would say that cause it just demos. It was capable when you simply turned it on under features. Just needed to connect your 3d component.

You still have to purchase the 3D sonar hub and transducer to get 3D images while on the water. Turning “simulator” on simply puts the unit into a “demo mode”

Simulator mode and demo mode are two different things, I was simply putting the unit in sim mode to show it's capability with additional equipment (Sold separately) what it looks like.

Lawerance Lanham, that is correct. The 3D structure Scan is an add on module and transducer for any Gen 3, Carbon, or HDS Live unit.

That is simulation mode only. It does not come with the standard HDS 9

Very interesting. The Raymarine Axiom9 RV Combo comes with their all in one transducer that does 3D imaging and its around 1300.00

does the 3 in 1 transducer allow this to work or do you need another transducer?

You show how to get it in simulator mode but I want real views on my lake. Do I need the 3D module and transducer? Russell Marine Products tell me I don't.

Hey y’ll I have an hsa7 carbon with ss3D transducer+ module! Have 3d feature on, when I click 3D I see a boat with blank black screen no scanning appears, had done 3D update and still no scan! Any input anyone?

Dude, this is very misleading. You should have also explained exactly what you need TO ACTUALLY make it work. Had you also said “it also will cost you an additional $1000 for the box and additional transducer, AND that transducer needs to plugged in...” I would have subscribed and upvoted.

In the video, it clearly states in writing (0.26-second point) that additional equipment is needed to produce 3D. I am quite clear on this, Thanks.

@@gillchaser449 Why don't you just admit your video may be misleading. At the :26 minute mark the text states "..... may require additional components..." not "additional equipment is needed" as you state above. Correct the text in your video and all is well.

I just happen to have power cords from past Lowrance sonars that I hook to a 12v battery

Have new hds live and when I plug AI 3&1 transducer into channel 2 it will not bring up this transducer under sonar installation? It will on channel one but then I can’t use side scan? How do I get this to function properly so that I can use side scan, 2d and downscan?

I would suggest reading the manual that came with the unit so you have a better understanding of what it will and will not do, you should be plugging in the 3&1 into the Black plug for 2D DI and side imaging, it will work with 2D and Down Imaging only plugged into the blue plug.

I understand this. When I go to installation under sonar tab my 3&1 active imaging transducer is not there? The manual doesn’t tell you how to do any of this, my biggest complaint about Lowrance products. The transducer remains “unknown”? Why isn’t my transducers showing up there?

When plugged into the BLACK plug the unit will automatically recognize the 3&1 transducer it will not show on the list.

Gill Chaser I figured it out and you’re right. The problem was the unit was set up as channel 1. Now everything is set up on channel two and is working properly! So many settings that you have to turn on in the background, don’t really understand why. All is good though, thanks for your help and keep making videos!

@@spawnlawn9754 I am looking to purchase a HDS live 9, am I to assume that the black plug in is channel #2. If so the blue is channel 1, then is that the outlet one would use to hook up the ss2 3d transducer to have 3d imaging
