This was wonderful Susan! Being a southern girl I loved this so much. You did a really great job documenting everything and showing it all to us. I love the riverboat you were on too. Paddle wheel boats are so southern and so interesting. I'm glad you had such a great time and that you shared it with us today. The plantations and the churches were just beautiful! I loved all of the old trees too...beautiful!🌳

Thank you so much for sharing your trip great photography. I live near St Louis close to the Mississippi River and see it often it is dangerously low and the barge traffic has all but stopped I think

Hi Charlotte, I am so glad I saw the great Mississippi River. I just could not believe how low it is. I hope the northern states get lots of snow that will meal down in the mighty River. I know the US commerce depends on good travel the River. Thanks so much for watch!

I haven't river cruised but I did drive from northern IL down the river to Hannibal MO. Sometimes I'd cross into Iowa then back into IL. I really enjoyed it.

The trip was wonderful!

The Piedmont Hotel is on my bucket list ! I have always wanted to stay there. This river cruise is on Ed’s and my good friend’s list . It looks like so much fun , but l have to seriously get into shape , just looking at that long dirt walkway or driveway up to one of the plantations tired me out! Did the ship provide an educational guide as you were cruising down the river? I was wondering if any artifacts or items of interest have been unearthed. I am sure Bodie was extremely excited to have his exhausted parents home ! Also you all or ya’ll look fabulous in every picture! Thank you for posting , it was fascinating 🥰

Hey Deb, I did ask one of the tour guides if they were finding artifacts and he said yes but did not elaborate. We walked so much that I thought I would have to buy a new pair of sneakers! We did more then most of the old folks because we walked up and down the historic neighborhood streets being nosey. I was feeling my age by the end of the trip and my Apple Watch was in a state of shock with my activity level, I am surprised it didn’t speed dial 911.

No we just went one way but the ship loaded up in New Orleans and went back to Memphis. I did hear of a few people who were going on the return trip.
