Lowepro ProTactic BP 450 AW II Camera Bag - My likes and dislikes after 8-Months of ownership

This video serves as a review of the Lowepro ProTactic BP 450 AW II camera bag - after roughly 8 months of owning and using it. I will show you everything I like and dislike about the bag, what all I currently carry in it, and why I’m replacing it very soon. That said, this is a very good camera bag with a lot of versatility and functionality.

This bag is quite the best (for my kind of use) on the market. But I understand everyone has other needs, but let me give u some thoughts about ur points: Believe me u don’t want the back straps mounted on the part which opens. 1. Ur complete mostly more then 20kg/40lbs bag will be hold by a zipper only 2. On a dirty ground it will directly go into it ... I used this bag in many wet/dirty locations and was able to keep the straps clean The side pockets are for batteries, sd cards and filters (so are the small ones at the belt too)

If the straps were attached to the back flap the whole weight of the bag would rest on the zipper - not a good idea. That's why I prefer this version.

What baffels me about these camera bags made to carry heavy gear is the lack of load lifter pull straps on top of the shoulder harness. Iam allways weary of a bag that dosnt include these. On smaller bags below 20 liters not so much a big deal. On bigger bags this helps take the weight of the seams on the shoulder harness connected to the bag itself . This bag is going for 169 at most places .

got that bag too. it is really good, fits my gear in it and some other stuff. but there is one thing i dislike about that bag. i don't know if i got the only problem with that (maybe production failure?) but the velcro has been sewn too far outwards. as soon as i have the bag on my back and i walk, the velcro scratches on my clothes and that doesn't look nice, especially with cotton everything puffs off. would be great if they could solve that with a zipper. just like on the pro runner bp 450 aw ii👍

@@herotrojan1645 Wow. Glad I could help your decision. The Lowepro is a great bag, it's just big and bulky. And the laptop pocket is less than ideal. Cheers!

How'd you secure that velcro on there for the patches? Thanks.

I used the adhesive-backed Velcro. It's been stuck on the bag for about 2 years now. No issues (yet)!

When you fold the rain-cover in the bottom properly, the pack will stand up. It seems you have lot of gear you’re not using anymore or you won’t need in the field. Chargers? Why not a couple extra batteries? Mouse with own container? Why? Original GoPro and a T1? Not if you have a Canon R!

I don't carry half the stuff in this video any more. I've retired the T1 and only have the original GoPro as an extra video source at home. As for the charger, I always carry it. It's lighter and cheaper than more batteries, and my truck has a built-in AC outlet, so I can charge on the fly. But yes, more batteries are always a wise investment.
