My Lowenstein machine arrived yesterday. I unpacked and set it up this morning. Let’s just say …… without your brilliant video, I would not have set it up properly. Thank you so much. I have used my old Philips machine every night for the past eight years. I was not sleeping well …… and then I watched another of your videos exposing the lamentable Philips algorithm. So I switched the machine to cpap ( on your recommendation) and immediately slept better. Your video analysed the Lowenstein, Resmed and Philips machines and I saw that you were impressed with the Lowenstein. I locked that away in my brain and now many months later, I have become the proud owner of of a Lowenstein Prisma20A. Thank you again. Brenton Adelaide South Australia

The dynamic mode is awesome. It reacts to snoring and flowlimitation within 1-2 minutes, bumps up the pressure about 1.5 and again by 1, if 1.5 is not enough and decreases slowly again after 5-10 minutes of normal flow. I have really tried to use only cpap on my P95 pressure, but always sleep better running apap from 9-14, no softpap, no ramp. I feel lucky I got this machine from the doctor 😅

Wow been on a month trial with both Resmed 10 and Lowenstein Prisma 20A .... Wow big difference for me resmed only got me down to AH! 3.2 the Prism 20A got me down to 0, it was whatever it does while your sleeping as my results were magic and I feel fantastic.... The resmed is a great machined but in all honesty the German Engineering and quieter was next level. So will be ordering me a Prisma 20A with bluetooth and 3G for APP connection. Great review would like to hear more about the Prisma 20A .....

Each machine is measuring the AHI according to its own algorithm, so the data is not comparable. I'm doing the same comparison between Airsense 10 Autoset and Prisma 20A. What I found using SnoreLab App is that using Prisma 20A I started having some epic snoring epoch. Peisma 20A is accounting the snoring but it's not taking any action accordingly. I never had this problem with ResMed.

@@ivandilov2518 l have now done 1757 hours using the Prisma 20A, in a word brilliant. Seriously life changing for me, l travel everywhere with it. My Wife is a light sleeper is happy as I had server sleep apnea and was that loud snoring a colleague in next room heard me snoring on business trip, even loaded with cheese and wine (wife leaves bedroom zone - not one snore or noise as Prisma 20A manages it without me even noticing it on. Now my wife raves about it embarrassingly sledging me as l respond saying l look like lm flying Sealy F18 bed!. Wife happy and l am feeling fantastic. So 5 stars from me. Maybe you set it up wrong as there is some great features on this device. Also seen this pulled down it has better pumps etc…. Just seamless to me…

God love you Nicko, I have just bought one of these machines after 3 years of NHS Phillips cheap **** with poisonous foam. My daughter watched me sleeping whilst we were away on holiday and saw me not breathing and the Phillips machine took ages to kick in. Fair to say I've had enough, I feel no better at all after 3 years of it and have developed low level sinus and chest congestion. Thanks for putting instructions on here, I'm tired (of course) and it is much easier watching you than trundling through the manual. Big thanks from over the pond. 🇬🇧

Signal data is the number of days the machine stores high res breath-by-breath data on the device. Unlike ResMed, the Prisma does not need an SD card to record high res data. If you forget to put the SD card back on the machine, it still records data for up to 14 days.

So, after viewing Nicko's very informative videos, i trialled a Prisma 20A for 4 weeks to compare against my resmed airsense10. The contrast was extraordinary and made me realize how bad the resmed's algorithm is, just as Nicko had informed. I bought a Prisma without hesitation at the end of the trial and am not looking back, my sleep has been soooo much better, thanks Nicko, i am definitely sleeping better thanks to your content and i am enormously appreciative!

I use 2 on the soft pap but there’s no 3 on the older version so I might upgrade for that soft pap 3 setting. Great review. One con is the humidifier is tricky to clean because of its shape but it’s a small con.

Prisma 20A is a great piece of hardware, also the software is very good too, but their Therapy algorithm doesn't work for me. I'm using ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet and I'm pretty happy with it. Now I'm Testing Prisma 20A. The reason I'm doing this is the SoftPAP 3 mode that is boosting the pressure just before the inspiration starts so that you can have the right pressure when you start the inspiration. But then started the problems. The clinician set the machine on Standard APAP control and SoftPAP to 2, Min Pressure 4cm H2O and Max Pressure 13.5cm H2O. So, the Ramp was OK, and the comfort was OK, but I started snoring a lot (which I didn't have as a problem with ResMed). Then I changed the APAP control to Dynamic and SoftPAP to 3 (what was the reason to test the Prisma 20A). So, I stopped snoring but stared having problems with the Ramp. The expiration pressure was 4cm H2O, but the inspiration pressure was jumping to 8cm H2O, which I felt as a blow in my nose. Changing SoftPAP to 2 resolved the issue but I lost the benefit of SoftPAP 3. So, I don't think that during Ramp period SoftPAP 3 should increase the pressure before inspiration as it's not comfortable and it's reasonless as the APAP software didn't detect any Apnea/Hypopnea incidents and the pressure levels should stay at MIN .

I got the prisma smart model, which this one seems like an upgrade. The smart has a interface on it like a 1970 digital alarm clock. Not nice at all. I find it a good machine though… it’s pretty quiet and it’s very well engineered, I wouldn’t any expect anything less from the Germans. Most of all it has helped me sleep better. I do find it’s bulky though and it doesn’t fit in my lumin uv sterilizer like the resmed did. I also have the white model and found the lumin made the humidifier top kinda yellow so I stopped doing that. I got the battery back up from polit too for it but haven’t used it but it’s good because we get a lot of winter storms in Newfoundland. I have the F and P mask because I have an ICD as well, so while the ICD is rated to go through an MRI, I’d rather not have that magnetic field around my ICD all night, I do want to try the Lowenstine mask though after seeing your video on it.

I just bought one of these 10 days ago. Thank you for this tutorial. I find it difficult to fall asleep with it as the air pressure prevents me from going to sleep. It's too strong for me.

Try using the soft-start / ramp mode while falling asleep, set a pressure thats comfortable for 15-30 min.

@@mghh448 the pressure stability is importend,. A professor createt a mechanic lunge and testet the pressure stability. Only Resmed products where stabile and some of the "world famous" brands had dangerous instabibiliys of the pressure. If the pressure is not constant you reach not the needet pressure to keep it OPEN...thats dangerous in long therm..

Living in the US and getting CPAP supplied through Medicare, I am stuck with the ResMed AS 10 Typhoon model for a period of 5 years before replacement. I would love to try the Lowenstein or the comparable Fisher and Paykel but $2500.00 US is a bit of a jolt. It does seem to be stupidly frugal not to invest in my own health , however. Now if it were on Sleep HQ...
