I just love the choice of video topics you provide lately .. its a great direction for you Thank you very much for your hard work ! This channel is truly the definition of a hidden gem , doubt it will remain hidden for much longer ;)
not really a hidden gem, or an indie, but one of the best low end game i played last year was Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I did not expect it to run at 60 fps on my over 10 year old laptop's intel HD 4000 (i had to turn off grass & bloom tho). I only played it because my gpu died and had literally nothing to play, but it turned out to be one my of the best decisions ever. I feel like people forget how there are many old PC games that run well on low end and have aged quite well, Batman Arkham city, Bioshock, Stalker, Fallout 3 and new vegas, the older hitman games, prototype probably some more than arent coming to my head rn
@smudgey5000

That's funny because even high end rigs have trouble with that due to it being poorly optimized for anything over 2 cores. I assume GOG version or no mods?
@Quasartist

I love the sentiment, but after having Fallout New Vegas corrupt my save 4 different times, 3 of which had a boatload of stability mods installed from Vortex which is supposedly the best one, I gotta call cap lol. But I can attest to Batman being a good decision, I can nearly max out the settings with my rig which was beefy when I made it but now considered a budget build.

One of my favourite low spec games is Nova Drift. Top-down view roguelite with a LOT of player control over the run and very satisfying synergies leading to both high run variety and low frustration at RNG. Runs are about an hour, depending on skill level, and there is a gameplay modifier to jump into lategame with a stock of upgrades
Thank you thank you for making the subscription monologue at the end of the video and only very short. This is a really good video and there’s at least two games on here maybe three but I’m gonna check out. Oh man she got old. Oh yeah
We want MOAR!!! You, The Phawx, Retro Game Corps and Taki Udon are, in my opinion, the kings of retro emulation devices and all things related. Thank you for your awesome videos and I do hope more people subscribe to your channel, which is also a hidden gem.

Awesome list. Found some new ones I can't wait to check out.
Can't wait for the next parts! I've recently started playing dominions 6, it's fantastic and runs on every potato. It's probably a lil too expensive for owners of low spec machines, but the previous in the series are great too!

Need to hear about what RPGs/cRPGs you like in this low spec world - and, yeah, I realize some of them might be obvious, LOL. I find myself, albeit my current nowadays self, wanting immersion over graphics - I still enjoy old emulated classics (Ultima, Bard's Tale) - but I have poked at the new enhanced nostalgia with a lot of interest. Skald looks like a very, very good contender for me personally. Love this new look at low spec hidden gems, Mr. Dweeb! Keep it up!
I love that Inmost got two cameos ❤❤ can’t wait for the next one in this series

OH, I wanted to tell you something about that! When I started up the game I thought the RGB on my computer was broken because all the lights went out. Then when the game started the RGB started glowing pale blue. When the lightning in the game stuck the RGB lit up white. The game was controlling the RGB! And I didn't even have any fancy RGB software or anything, it just did it on its own! I thought to myself "I gotta tell Crystal". Glad you reminded me :P

Thanks again, Mr. Dweeb, I absolutely love your Hidden Gems series! There always seems to be one game from your list that I've played and several others that I add to my list of future titles. You reminded me that I really need to go back and finish Axiom Verge and add Bot Vice to my list. There was a Contra-like game in your opening and closing montage, with the protagonist running up a diagonal platform. Do you remember the name of that title? I kinda suck at the genre, but I always have 1 - 3 on my system as they are great for on-the-go gaming. One of my recent 'Low-spec' faves is, UnMetal. The humor might not stick as well if you hadn't played the Metal Gear series but I often had to stifle laughter late at night when playing it in bed. You can pick it up on most current-gen consoles, but I played it on the Deck.
God Damn, I had botvice for literally half a decade sitting on my back catalog. thank you for showing me what I was missing out
Love the vid, man! Loads of good games to play on my SD.
Great video, can't wait to see more low specs hidden gems!
You been on fire this year. Keep up the good work. Always enjoy me sum tech dweeb. And sum rootbeer
Great video. Vast majority of computers don't have a dedicated graphics card. They have an APU or CPU GPU combo like Intel chips. These have surprisingly become quite capable over the years. Some of the newer ones could even run games from the last generation of consoles. Side note, Axiom verge is amazing. Trace rising theme is great. I also recommend Blasphemous.

I sold my GTX 1080 when the prices were sky high during the pandemic, and used I5-8600K's integrated graphics to play some low spec games for 10 months til' I could bag a 3070 FE for retail price. Here are a few that you reminded me of with your list: Death Road To Canada - for the roguelike pixel action game with choose your own adventure style stuff. You choose your crew and can get and maintain vehicles as you travel north to escape into Canada from the zombie apocalypse. A Short Hike - played this one since it was on Game Pass and really enjoyed it. It's really relaxing and charming, and was fun without being too long. Endless Sky - for space action and shooting sim that reminds me of the old days growing up with Escape Velocity and EV: Nova. This one is straight up free.
I love these types of lists. My steam wishlist just got bigger.

one of the best low spec games that i've played recently is the "Kingdom" series. the kingdom: classic is actually free on steam and it's gorgeous pixel art as well
But want to emphatize again, I´m really looking forward to more of those recommendation! Thank you :)

Based on your taste in games, I've gotta recommend Picayune Dreams. Definitely one of the more inventive Vampire Survivors-likes, the art style and music is incredible.

It will be I own it and it's more like a run and gun. So when u die u get a runtime and restart the entire game .
Although not as "pixelated" as the rest of the games you showed, or an indie title, I would love to see Civ V in this series somewhere. That game runs on my 2011 mac pro laptop and is a strategy GEM.
where can I find this goo in a jar simulator game? I couldn't find it anywhere
Have you seen the new "AYA NEO SLIDE" it comes in black and orange and White and orange. The orange on the white one is a bit darker than i usually like but i think a keyboard is whats missing from a lot of these portable gaming computers, but the prices are almost rivaling Laptops.

Thanks for this list! I love SHMUPS ever since I played Gradius III on SNES. Currently been playing a lot of Dave the Diver, Vampire Survivors, and Hades on the Steam Deck. Just find myself always wanting to play these low spec type of games over the big AAA titles. Once I can get a nice emulation setup (arcade?) with everything from before the current generation, I think I'd be pretty content.

I highly recommend Infernax for this category of games. I couldnt get enough of it! Also, Ocean's Heart and Astalon were good. Play-on-a-potato JRPGs I'd recommend are Shadows of Adam and Rise of the Third Power. Very nostalgic for me since i was a big Final Fantasy guy in the SNES days.
Can you name the ones in the end of the video. There is a submarine like one.
Two games I recommend for being low spec is Retro City Rampage and Shakedown Hawaii

Hello, for a future episode you could check out also Graveyard Keeper, it has good pixelart, an amazing soundtrack, very good leveling upnsystem with complex skilltree, it is like a darker version of Stardew Valley, it also has an amazing story with several DLC's that just add new layers to the storry adding back storyes to sidecharacters.
