Thanks again for this video... It helps a lot ! Already got the L80 which I'll keep for most silent practice, but the agean definitely seems awesome... More wash / decay and less proeminent ping. This open new perspective for drumming practice, I would love to play those ageans with an acoustic kit + silent pads like aquarians super pads... I still hope for a "low/mid volume" solution which sounds pretty good without triggers, then, by adding/blending a bit of triggered sound, it could be perfect.

I really like the range of the Agean cymbals. I have the Gen 16 7 piece kit without the splash, and i like how i can adjust the different tones in the DSP. Another thing I did (which i could do in all the perforated cymbals) was added sizzler rivets to them. Definitely an added bonus, especially for jazz music in a small setting.

@@drumtecTV Hey, drumtec do you know of any companies that make any 22" and 24" low volume cymbals? I've been searching and searching I can't seem to find any. The reason I want the bigger cymbals is first, they're heavier and feel closer to regular cymbals. And second, if you listen the 20" cymbals, they sound like 16" regular cymbals. I believe this is because of their higher speed of sound with the steel cymbals. So I currently play with Obera 16" crshes for hits, 18" and 20" for crashes, and a silver Zildjian 20" for my ride.

I think I bought the last action-set of Arborea mute cymbals from the Dutch distributor. A set comprising of a hihat, 16”, 18” and 20” for €139,- euros. So price wise I had a pretty good deal. They might be not the best sounding, but I like how the play. Especially the hihat. The 18” played hard sounds pretty good for a LV crash. It sounds way better than the 16”. So I just ordered another 18” on the Drum-tec website to complete my set. So far, I’m pretty happy with them. But with this comparison a like the Zildjian L80 for best LV cymbals. But the Ageans really sound the best. Pretty useful for a small session with a real kit.

For me, the L80's serve the purpose of being quiet, yet still sounding like cymbals. The Ageans sounded great, but I'm thinking cocktail kit or open mic night rather than practice time, you know? Anyway, thanks for this. It was super informative!

Well I got some of the Sabians and used them for a cocktail kit a couple of times. They're TOO quite and sound the same no matter where you hit them (except the bell). I put strips of masking tape under them, which plugs some of the holes and makes them louder, but they're still not QUITE loud enough. I'm thinking of getting some Ageans instead. The Zildjian LVs are just horrible all around IMO, and this is from a guy that's been playing regular Zildjians for 25 years.

Hi, can´t comment on the rtoms sadly. The Agean low noise cymbals much sound just like in the demo video, that´s why we tried to deliver a neutral sound demo :) in terms of volume, they are way more silent than any "regular" cymbal, but do have an authentic cymbal sound nonetheless. The order of all 5 pieces was: €248.74 ($295.69)....for a total of $419 w/shipping. Long story short, I cancel the order. *Brought a set on Amazon and the 18"crach hole is too narrow that doesn't pass the plastic sleeve (made a video and pictures in the review section), asked for a replacement and came the same way and also the ride. I returned the initial order and replacement today.

The B8 have more high frequencies, which makes them sound a little more like Zildjian Gen16, while the "regular" Arborea Mute sound a little more like the Sabian Quiet Tones (in my opinion). If you really want to cut down on volume for practicing, the most silent solution would be the Zildjian L80. Kind regards!

but they sound terrible no matter how low volume they are. Okay, they have less decay, due to the finish, but if you can improve an instrument by muting it, it is not so good at first place. I'd be most annoyed by a bad sound, not by volume. As matter of fact, the better you sound, the louder you can be without pissing off other people. Like, playing edrums on rubber pads will drive all others crazy because there is no tone to the noise, just plock plock plock, no matter how low volume, this is driving people mad. And on stages, sure you want more control on the sound, but always better to start with a good sound, which you have to tweak less...

I can't stop listening to the Arborea Mute blow them all away for ALL NEEDED FEATURES! Low Volume! Amazing Tone, Swell, Bell and Sustain! Striking Looks! Extremely Well Balanced Sounding! One could easily do a small room venue with these on an E-Kit either Acoustically or Triggered with a Piezo Trigger, etc... At any rate, the others ALL have their qualities BUT the aforementioned imho ARE THE WINNER HANDS DOWN and DEFINTELY BEAT THE SABIANS with WAY BETTER NICKEL CONTENT in their Alloys! Arborea is a Hand Made Cymbal in a VERY GOOD FACTORY, not that the others aren't. However they use the same techniques as the Cymbal Makers in Turkey! These are the OLDEST METHODS, as well, they produce such Boutique Quality Low Volume Cymbals such as these, which should cost THREE TIMES what they do, just as Sabians should cost TWICE AS MUCH and Agean, in a class of their own, while LOWER VOLUME, missed the mark ONLY for that fact alone! Not quite LOW VOLUME imho but still amazing! LIKE LOUDER ARBOREAS if you listen very carefully! Otherwise, I can afford to buy whatever I want to and I am an AUDIOPHILE! Therefore, my opinion is very valuable to me and possibly to someone else that this might help! If anyone needs help making their own Custom Electronic Cymbals from Low Volume Cymbals, I have some excellent tips and advice that should save you lots of hassles! They sound AMAZING! Thank you Drum-Tec so much! What a GREAT EXPERIENCE discovering them!! Wonderful people actually to deal with!! I loved the Arborea Bronze as well but the Nickel Mutes are more for me! These Cymbals ARE ALL MADE for E-Drumming and THEY SOUND LIKE IT IN EVERY WAY, each with something all their own and ALL, while merging the Gap for Hybrid Kit Players who want to BLEND their tone with Accurate Cymbal Types while using Triggers!! My DREAM KIT IS BEING BUILT AS WE SPEAK, AND ALL THANKS TO DRUM-TEC!! AWESOME!!

Arborea cymbals are handmade and others not? Mistake here :) Agean cymbals are both hand hammered and they even perforate each hole one by one by hand drilling not press made system like Arborea and others :) while supporting a claim, you should be accurately right and sure of it. Agean cymbals are the only ones in this video that are both handcrafted and hand drilled ones . Cheers!

Why don't you guys get normal cymbals instead of quiet ones?

IMO the zildjian gen16 sound terrible, especially considering the price. The arborea b8 have an annoying hiss overtone that seems like it could fatigue the ears. Maybe I'm alone but overall I like the sabian for practice. Agean is definitely the best sounding.

Ageans sound the best but are hardly quiet... I also advise you to check the price tag... Jesus
