Low Line Defense - Don't Overlook It - Kung Fu Report

Спорт

Today we talk about how to defend against low line attacks. This is most often overlooked, especially by Wing Chun. The principle is the same whether you have a weapon, or with a block, or empty hands.

Never get tired of Chris's selflessness and of course his enduring commitment to the development of pain tolerance. Seriously, appreciate post training integration.

Post training or grounding? Would love to see your thoughts on classic wing chun breathing and if tai chi based is different and how so. Thanks for amazing content, cant avoid to like everything you publish 👍🙏

This is really important. I try to apply the same techniques on the dummy using weapons sometimes to translate the same principle but on that case I have to be extra careful to not destroy the wooden dummy when I train alone.

My question is, concerning the context of Chueng Lai Chuen and Ip Man in the revolution where the opponents would actually be wearing helmets how do you create a standard reaction that is applicable for the "street fight" v the fight against multiple opponents with body armor?

@DL_2025 Yes, and look at the techniques they use, the early army basic training used similar techniques but it supposed you would also be wearing the body armor like helmets, packs, flack jackets. But Bak Mei doesn't approach the problem the same way it uses the paralyzing strikes, tremor power, and something like tai chi's fa jing. It's amazing to see but there are no videos show you what it really looks like in combat. That's what I was hoping Adam could give because this is big part of modern gung fu history that we don't have.

@DL_GB But it actually works, I've seen Dr Yeu Quang Wong do it and he was a student of GM CHEUNG, it looks like bullshido until you experience it. He didn't even look like he was using any energy. One of Chueng's students created the 14k tong originally as a Bak Mei Pai to fight the Maoists although it became corrupt because it entered crime to finance the Kuomintang. They also established a Bak Mei Pai in Laos to train rebels against the invading armed communists. Point being this is a modern battle tested system without MMA rules. Problem is, in researching it, I don't speak Chinese.

@DL_2025 I'm not saying it's fa jing, but the effects look similar, that is why I asked the question and I've actually seen it and felt it used on me so I know it works, I think from watching Adam he knows what I'm talking about.

@DL_GB sorry not sure when I sent you that, too many beers to be texting. I remember responding to something that popped up on my screen. Again, sorry, and thanks for the conversation.

Hello friend, it is written "pose training" and it is in many fighting chi kung systems. I use one for healing but it even it has affected my reflexes and body. Please look it up on KZread, but find your own favorite and not Shifu's because there is a need to feel your personality reflecting into your art. I hope this helps

a lot of people can't drop their wait as fast as you holding form with the sticks ... therefor it is not practical .... the second movement of just dropping the arm lower with the stick and turning the waist more looks like it would work better for everyone
