Hey jamie what do you do for work ?? Would you do this full time? You mentioned “income streams” in another video, please make a video on that! 🙌

I'm lucky because I really enjoy cooking and find it therapeutic. For me, it's most relaxing when I'm cooking something that I make frequently. I have about a dozen dishes that I cook for my family that I cycle through. I've made these countless times so don't really need to follow a recipe and there's very little mystery to how it'll turn out and taste. So, it's efficient and predictable; mindless even.. which makes it relaxing. And then, depending on what ingredients I have on hand, I sometimes tweak parts of the dish and that makes the cooking process exciting and fun, but still controlled. All this to say, what worked for me is to find and practice a few dishes that you really enjoy cooking (and eating, obviously!) and then slowly build out that catalogue of go-to dishes and then, next thing you know, you can comfortably (and hopefully enjoyably) prepare something different every day for like 2-3 weeks straight.

i also did a low buy february and it was a good reminder to myself to shop my stash and be contented with what i have! and that i don’t need new things all the time! that said, the husband and i went on vacation in March (to China!) and out went my low buy mentality 🤭 i’m also thinking about building a capsule wardrobe too! pieces that suit me and hopefully can last a long time! maybe you can pick some pieces from Uniqlo / GU when you’re in Japan? ❤

To me the therapeutic part of cooking involves both the efficiency and the outcome, and one extremely useful tool I found for improving the both is a nice rice cooker. It would make a wide range of tasks much more easier and robust. People pick up their own tricks when they explore it, I'm sure you'll get there too!

Thanks for this! Do you use the rice cooker for a variety of meals? I’ve used people use it to make all sorts of dishes but I’ve only used mine for rice 😂

@@SundayswithJamie When I started cooking I did almost everything with my rice cooker : ) But recently I found tossing woks is much more fun so I only use it when cooking stews or pre-processing large chunk of meats.
