I couldn't tell, so apologies if you've done this already, but a little silicone along the counters and windowsill where they meet the wall will help seal things so that crumbs and moisture don't get between the wall and the surfaces. It looks lovely! Love the wood tones, makes everything feel very bright and natural.

I think it's a ripe banana, one egg and random amounts of oats, flour and baking powder :P. I do know that will make a great pancake! I would prefer it a little less raw though, and oats tend to take longer to cook, so bake slowly!

I fully agree. Having wooden countertops myself, I would like to add that oiling them on a regular basis when they are still new and occasionally when they are older is very important to keep them looking nice. I love what you do to your kitchen, Elise

Elise.. everything you have done to your house is exactly what I plan to do.. from your style and the colors you have chosen. After my husband of 50 years passed away.. I couldn’t stay in the huge house that I was living with.. plus far away from family & friends. So put on my big girl pants, took a chance and found an older home that has given me the opportunity to express my true self. Having my husband, 3 sons and 8 grandsons didn’t lead to feminine decor!! Now my house is a blank slate. Your videos truly encourage me.. love 💕 what you have done !! Keep up the fantastic work!

The shades you've chosen for your home compared to your last are very much more calm and blissful.

A cool thing about having your own house is having a cool place to show those historical things like your Grandpa's shelf. You might try thinking of some other things like that you could add. Also maybe find some black and white photos of your family to display in vintage frames. I used to have mine set up on an old piano. Maybe set yours up in a space that's hard to get to but easy to see, like a corner you're thinking, "how can I use that space".

I think the wood color is lovely, very warm and a great contrast.

The new tap and sink is so beautiful. Looks like it's going to be a lovely kitchen. And so nice of Chad to help you out 😁🥰

"Why am I doing this alone?" I chuckled as I myself a 59 yo singleton, I am right now taking a break from installing industrial grade shelving in my basement. You do it yourself because you can! It is what we do. Then get help for the bits we just cannot do ourselves correctly. Keep on keepin on. I have chosen similar countertops. I don't quite call my style boho, more granny on acid-style. Take care. I love seeing what you are up yo.

Ohhhhh…this gives me so many fond memories of my old cottage home I purchased when I was single. I did many of the same things in my own kitchen. Elise, I used a product called Waterlox to coat my wood counters and I would refresh them every year to protect the wood. I too had modern looking cabinets and I installed a few open shelves to set some dishes so I could have a more open feel to my narrow kitchen. My home looked like a cottage on the outside and I planted multiple colors of bougainvillea through the chain fence and lots of pretty flowers in the garden. These videos are such a spark of joy watching you create (which is what you do) is such a pleasure. Everything looks great. ❤

Alice Cooper, Blondie, Florence Welch, Joan Jett, Lacey Sturm, Penny Lane, Stevie Nicks and Taylor Momsen. We don't have a rooster, but boy can our ladies sing. 🎶 🐔🤣

Elise, I am so totally impressed with how you are fixing up the kitchen mostly by yourself. You are the boss. I am so amazed. When I was your age, I was so scared and didn't know anything about it, but you just jump in and do it. Yay! One thing that I am concerned is that you continue to sand walls, etc. without wearing a mask. Please, please wear a mask when sanding. Love what you have done with the kitchen. Where did the knobs go? I didn't see them.

That wood stain/varnish made the worktops the perfect color for your kitchen I feel. Love your new sink, as I always love ceramic ones, I HATE stainless steel ones! LOVE your gold colored tap. May I suggest you protect that lovely work top, you have worked so hard on, when your are doing diy around it,or you may scratch it! I have a work top saver, which is a picture of cherries, with glass over it, which is heat resistant too, as you do not want to be putting hot things on that beautiful wood. xxx

Your video made me smile, because I did the same thing as you. I remodeled my kitchen last year, put in wood countertops and a deep sink with a new tall faucet. Great minds think alike😁. I had also oiled my countertops but after awhile they developed little dots of black mold by the kitchen sink from it getting wet, even though I wiped up the water. I eventually sanded those spots and painted all the counters with matte varnish. It's really helped waterproof it. Just thought I'd mention it so hopefully you won't have the same issues. Thanks for the wonderful videos. I always love seeing strong, independent women tackle life on their own terms!

I have to commend you on your patience! I hated plastering and sanding! We bought a small ranch and we (hubby and I) had to gut it. We thought we could just remodel but we found so much just wrong! But, I hated the sheetrock, then plastering and sanding! Then the family pitched in to help us finish and paint! Love your ideas and how it's turning out! 🥰
