Thank you so much Dr. Ergin. My sugar dropped to 60 so I drank coke half can and after 15 minutes it went up to 102. I have never had this problem before. I am having problem with eczema so I started carnivore diet which has helped me with my health. I have type 2 diabetes and my numbers were always high but now there are normal. I only eat twice a day and I am not having any problem. Thank you so much once again.

How amazing it is to hear someone explain how your body is reacting. After my bariatric bypass I began to experience low sugars and I could not understand why. I was told many times that I wasn't taking my vitamins correctly which in part was true. But yet my blood work would come back perfectly normal yet still daily get these low sugars. I have educated my self to track my numbers, I did research on hypoglycemia and care for my self as if I was diagnosed but not really. And here I am post opt 12 years later hearing a doctor on a two year old video explaining exactly how I have been feeling and treating my self. I do have to say that I have never passed out thank God, but based on the term Reactive Hypoglycemia I will be discussing this with my family doctor. I want to thank you Doc for the information provided, it has shine light and answered many questions regarding my low sugars. God bless. And yes, I've subscribed and liked your videos 🙂

Very good video ! Any thoughts for non diabetic people who wake up during the night having hypoglycemia symptoms ? My exercise routine and apparent fast metabolism led me to have meals about every 3h - all those balancing lean protein and good carbs/fats. Even having a extra snack (omelet + wholegrain bread) just before going to bed does not prevent me from waking up at 4am

Dexcom G6 adds to the anxiety when things 'drop'. Since then, always been running high(er) and hbA1c is around the 8% mark. Many thanks, Dr. Ergin you are doing a great service to all of us who are diabetic. Having said that, I have a suggestion or comment regarding your presentation. Typically you go through the points you are going to cover, talk briefly on each point, sometimes too much, and then cover them in detail. Instead and for efficient time management, just list the points on a board or on the screen and run through them without too much briefing. After that, you can take them one by one for an explanation. I think that will be more useful for the audience. Thanks!

Most of the time I go low at night. Recently I was awakened by my glucose monitor alarm of below 70 which it was actually 69. It happened at 3:30am. I didn't do anything for it, just kept sleeping. A little while later I rechecked it and it was above 80. The next day I tuned off the alarm for under 70, but the alarm under 54 is always on. So again at 3:30am I had the alarm go off and this time it was 53. I again didn't do anything about it and it went back above 80. This doesn't happen every night. Should I be doing something about it or should I just not worry about it as I have been? I am prediabetic not taking much of anything. I do take the glucose support. Since I am sleeping when it happens I don't know if I am feeling different. My nurse practitioner tells me that since I am not on insulin that I don't really need to worry about it, and that I won't die from being low. What is your thoughts, about this?

It sounds like you are insulin sensitive which is great. My glucose will range between 50 and 110 and averages 84 with hbA1c at 4.6%. I eat carnivour diet so consume no carbs at all and are in ketosis all the time I feel brilliant when glucose is at its lowest.

I am pre diabetic for a few years now. I take 500 ml met formin twice a day. I had an episode today, I can actually start to feel when my level is low. First my vision seemed blurry, then I became fatigue, started sweating a lot, then I was hungry. I was out shopping, so I bought a snickers candy bar and ate it. Is this ok or is there a better alternative? I usually start feeling a little better after I eat the snickers. It doesn’t happen all the time , but at least a few times a year.

Doc, what medicine do you usually prescribe to protect kidneys. I am diabetic and my blood pressure is good. My previous PCP prescribed me lisinopril 10 mg then my new PCP stopped it when I complained that my bp goes too low and so dizzy when he changed it to 20 mg and said my bp is good and I don’t need it. New PCP don’t know or want to listen he will always cuts you off. I only changed PCP due to change of insurance. Thank you.

I'm a new diabetic and the first day that I started taking 2 metformin pills a day I had severe symptoms of hypoglycemia right after taking metformin in the morning with breakfast. I'm doing better with it now and not having that same type of reaction. I'm wondering what could have caused this?

My guess is many factors that could have caused your blood sugar levels to dip. Do you skip meals? If you do that may have been a factor. Maybe it is a side effect of your medication. I hope you are keeping in touch with your doctor and I hope you are feeling better
