I started the 'Healthy Plate' concept. I have salad consisting of a cumumber, carrot and beetroot or radish. Half my food is salad for both lunch and dinner. I followed it for 3 months now. Voila.. my HBA1C came down from 7.8 to 7.0. I am in my 4th month now. I do take medicines, Pioglitazone 30 mg twice a day and Vildagliptin M 50/500 twice a day. Thank you Dr. Mohan. You have been a great help to me sir. God bless you.

Very well explained Dr. Mohan. I learned everything you said 3 yrs ago. At first it's so hard, but later on it's so ok to do it. I'm no longer taking medicines for diabetes, i just take vitamins and just eat the right food you are suggesting, a little exercise, and i feel ok. I hope everyone will follow your advice. Just be determined of what you do and eat, everything will be ok. GOD bless everyone...

Listened to you, Dr. Mohan. Am a qualified nutritionist too. There's an interesting input I'd like to add here, after listening - and that is that diabetic control is directly related to the average daily diet in our society; food is such an EMOTIVE ISSUE in Indian families.... It has become synonymous with being cultured, being a family oriented person, being a good hostess at home, being a ' homely and obedient daughter in law, even to the point of 'judging someone as ' living life fully' OR THE CONTRARY!!! Eating to live is perceived as miserly, questioning and changing patterns of eating for the family disturbs and upsets members..... UNTIL disease comes knocking

This is a honest doctor. I am a Type 2 diabetic for the past 25 years and am very healthy now because I do not touch wheat (gluten), milk from wheat-fed animals, any kind of sugar, soy, processed foods, MSG, and anything in packets, cans and bottles, alcoholic beverages, chocolates (cadmium) and fruits high in sugar. I exercise daily sometimes twice a day. I also add real sea salt to all my meals as being diabetic means that my body is in a state of insulin sensitivity and needs salt. Caffeine is a huge salt waster and I restrict my caffeine intake to only once in the morning. Cheers!

BANG ON!! Finally a Diabetic Doc who Speaks Sense. My Grand Mother lived till 82 with Diabetes & BP . However she was consistent with the diet until 81. She replaced sugar with sweetex drops for every day tea. Ate a plate full of Rice & Fish every afternoon. Dinner was light vegetables or soup. Most importantly NEVER seen her Stressed only Praying. Never seen her exercise either. Had a maid to do household chores aswell. Back then there was no way to monitor sugar or BP everyday or regularly. So I guess the Golden Rule would be to Become a Disciplined Diabetic. Eat Simple & Limited. Avoid sweets except occasionally. Don't Stress Hand over to GOD what you cannot handle. Get Early to bed & be Early to rise. Exercise moderately every morning.

Fantastic video about diet control for a diabetic patient. Padmashri Dr. V. Mohan MD, Ph.D, DSc, 4 FRCPs etc....said also about the fruits that can be consumed by diabetic patients. He said about 5 fruits viz. Papaya, guava, orange, apple & watermelon. But l worked in MDRF with Dr. VM & Dr. RM his late wife. Then l attended an ADA lnternational conference in Taj Coromandel, Chennai. Then l learnt from other conferences also the various fruits that can be consumed by diabetic patients viz: Jamun, Pomegranate, Avocado, Chambakka (pink & green varieties), Mangosteen, Rambuttan, cashew apple, Dragon fruit, Musk melon, Pear, Plums, Noni, Custard Apple, raw & cooked Jack fruit etc.....but everything in moderation. Anyway l have just added these many fruits for diabetic patients of various choices and availability in different parts of the world. Also include millets in the diet which include Ragi, Thinnai, Sorghum, Pearl millet, Maize in moderation, brown rice, Bamboo seeds, Flaxseed, Rapeseed, Rice bran, and for protein include horse gram, all types of other grams, plus egg white, egg yoke in moderation, various shell fish in moderation but has more cholesterol content. The portions one takes is very important. Take 5 small portions with intervals. Once in a while can have high fiber diet which is available in plenty. All types of Spinach, Arrowroot, raw mango juice (Aam Panna), lime and ginger juice without honey, all these are very rich in antioxidants, flavonoids, terpinoids, seasoning etc. Have yoga, quite time, exercise, use of ri e bran oil, olive oil, mustard oil, gingelly oil etc.....using grated Coconut & Kopra, are fine and not Coconut milk always, tender coconut water once in a while, buttermilk without much fat or Moru curry with turmeric powder & fenugreek (soaked in water overnight and drain the water and drink in empty stomach and eat the soaked fenugreek, even sprouted fenugreek is very good. Looking forward to see many more videos of Dr. VM & team members. All the best!!! Good luck and creating good awareness to the public and the whole world. God bless ♥️😇👌👋✋🤚👍🍌🌽🍒🐄🥛🥭🥚

Daily 10000 steps with very moderate strength Exercise. UVB Sun exposure 30-45 min daily. Diet is strictly millet rices and other ancient rices Black Rice, mappilai samba, etc which are having low GI. No vegetable seed oils which are harmful to our health. Completely ‘NO’ to wheat products which contains gluten which is harmful substance to your gut. I am 66 years now and I have reversed my diabetic completely since 2 years. (Covid period). “When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use; when the diet is correct medicine is of no need”. I am not forcing viewer to be as strict as me.

Dear Doctor I have been diagnosed with diabetes about 1 year ago. at the age of 62 and my husband too aged 69 around the same time. Both of us are on medication. Your videos have been invaluable to us. We exercise, monitor and eat like you taught us to. My HBA1C is down from 7 to 5.9. Thankyou so much. Your videos are clear, very understandable and gives insights which help us to better our lifestyle. The spiritual thread underlying all you talks is what makes them greater. Thankyou sir

Doctor, I am having diabetes since 1 year. I had cancer thrice in 3 places. First kidney , initial stage. So removed 1 kidney. No treatment. After 7 years breast cancer. Removed that breast and had chemo and fempro for yrs. After 11 yrs again I had cancer. It was in 3 different parts. They told it was not curable but with injections we can prolong life. So took 18 injections for 1 year and now fempro 2.5 mg life long. Taking neuro tablets also since 5 years. Is there any chance for my diabetes related to any of these reasons? Can u pls answer? Thank you doctor
