Definitely wait until 18 months or even 2 depending on the kid!!!! I wouldn’t introduce the shape sorter aspect and the car piece of building the car until they turn 2.

Great video! my sister just gifted my 12 month old this for Christmas, still waiting for it to be delivered. Im glad to hear you point out how it can grow with the babies interest and abilities.

Awe thank you!! Your 12 month old will LOVE it - it'll just be a relationship that evolves! My daughter pulls it out multiple times a week now that it's in a bag and builds all sorts of things with it. Enjoy!!

We’ve had this set since my daughter was 10 months old and she still uses it daily at 21 months. Such a versatile block set.

I think it's the Dr. Browns one but I don't recommend it... she has a pretty bad overbite now. For newborns I like the ninni and then i honestly wish we would've cut the binky at 6 months, 12 months max , but if you go past that I'd switch to an orthodontic one

They can knock towers but stacking blocks tends to be a struggle before around 18 months. The max number they can usually stack is about 2-5 blocks at that stage

My son was very advanced in motor skills, he would stack 10 blocks plus at 11 months. He also walked at 8 months and sat unsupported before 4. BUT he's severely speech delayed lol. You win some you lose some. Oh and he does 50 to 100 piece puzzles at 3 now . Weird

Thank you! Honestly it just depends on your kid! My daughter definitely liked these more the older she got, so if you don't mind them potentially sitting there for a little then it's a great time! Because we got them around(ish) that age, my tips for early introduction: - Put all the pieces except the shape sorting ones into the bag and just leave it out as a shape sorting box at first. They can stack those pieces too. - Only put out the bridge and people pieces during a different toy rotation (the full set is a lot for younger children I think, and those pieces work so well together). - Leave out the magnetic sticks and wheels as another rotation (that was my daughter’s favorite activity at first!) - And she LOVED the car aspect once she was walking. Before that it was very hit or miss - just a note: I didn’t give her the smaller lacing pieces until after 15(isn) months I think? I can’t totally remember

A little bit young. I would get the fisher price shape sorter instead

I am interested in subscribing but due to my daughters age she has to start with the “realist play kit”. Do you think there’s a way I would be able to buy individual play kits or something since they changed things a bit? I wanted my subscription to start with the babbler play kit since it’s in the beginning of the toddler stage. Or should I change her birth date so I could start with the babbler stage?

Yes I think changing her birth date to start with what you want will work - from there you can buy individual or subscribe; it's a little weird, basically you get the "your shipping schedule page" click next, and then on the next page, buy individual is the third option down.

@@theconfusedmom thank you!! Compared to Amazon do you think it’s still worth it since it’s not going to be 120 per kit? I just gathered everything I could find that compares to the kit except for the books and all together it comes out to be almost $700 with a few missing items.

@@bethb8594 I'm not totally following... What do you mean it's not going to be 120 per kit? I have a video on my thoughts about what's worth it since the Sept 2020 changes - I don't think the Pioneer is worth it, but do think the others still are - speaking on a high level here of course haha

@@leaettaodglen1692 Honestly, I don't. But It's a pretty easy DIY IMO... just get a container with a lid (if you want to store them inside). Hot glue some green felt to the exterior. Then you can either get actual bug patches off like etsy if you want the stitching/sensory experience or just print and laminate some of the bugs/critters that are local to you (you can laminate using contact paper from the dollar tree, I show this in my toddler activity videos when making matching cards), and just stick a velcro sticky to the back of it! You can get velcro dots like that at the Dollar Tree or off amazon!
