Great video Rachael, thank you. Can’t wait to see a house and playroom update! I would love to see a video of your perspective on the lovevery toys now that you’ve had them all for so long- which were favourites with both your son and daughter, which toys from younger playkits had longevity and how you used them as the kids got older. I know there’s a really big market for buying the lovevery toys second hand and people pick and choose to get the toys that have been the biggest hits from each playkit. I’d be interested to hear your opinions of the ‘top toys’ 😊

I've had this on my list forever to do! I've been waiting until we got all our toys back from storage since they've actually been put away for 7 months during our moves and now. Now that we are settled it's been interesting to see what they grab from the young kits for sure. I probably won't do it for another few months as i keep seeing what htey go for.

lolol I was VERY excited haha We'd had about 99.9% of our Lovevery stuff in storage for 5+ months from all our moves and our house was littered with Dollar Tree toys waiting to get it all back lol There's nothing wrong with DT toys, but man does Lovevery feel good in your hands haha

I get so excited every time i see a new video from you! Do you have any advice for keeping lovevery toys exciting and stimulating, particularly around the two year old age? My son will be 2 1/2 in June and he has not been too thrilled with the play kits recently. We have up until The Enthusiast. He seems to master the skills quickly and get bored with them. We do toy rotation but we haven’t really found new ways to make the previous toys exciting again. I’m wondering if the last two play kits just might have been duds or if we should get the kits delivered earlier than recommended so they would be more challenging.

So I will say in my experience introducing early is always better. The enthusiast play kit is IMO one of the worst play kits they have so it could be a dud for sure. With that said you can do some activities with the rainbow ring stacker by using magna tiles and making colored boxes for sorting. (You could do it with construction paper too and put little people in the middle and make it a pool raft parking etc) so you tell a story with them and have him color match. With the peg toy in the enthusiast you could make cards with patterns he has to recreate in there. both of those toys were some of my daughters absolute favoritesssss and she played with them for like 2 years. We would use both as serving trays for play restaurant or house too. A nice balance challenge in ther too. You could also have him hop while balancing them. We are actually getting these kits out of storage tomorrow and my son is going to be 2 in June so I’ll be using them with him and maybe do a video of some other ways to play!

I was wondering this morning if you received the items ahead to review them after I saw the lovevery email that they have play kits for 4 year olds now 😄 I really think they should overhaul their 3 and 4 year old kits and go by theme instead of age. It just would be so great to be able to get a math kit, a science kit, a language kit, plan my day kit, pretend play kit, etc. And let people choose themselves - kids at this age just start to vary so much, having their own interests. So we're not planning to jump back into getting lovevery toys as long as they have their rigid system but looking forward to see how your daughter is using and liking the toys in case there is something I think is worth getting second hand. What I really love at first sight is the design of the plan ahead week board. I've been trying to establish a visual weekly schedule for my kids for a while now and they're all just not working. I'm not planning to get the lovevery one since just like most planners, the icons are just a little small. But I'll definitely try to DIY something like their design with the foldable parts. Very clever.

Haha yeah we got them a month ago. I def see what you mean about 3-4 and there are probably a lot who feel similar. On my Instagram story today though I was talking about how I like how they do it actually. It’s so easy for me to assume my daughter won’t like something because she is just into pretend play and thus never get any other type of item really outside of it and this makes sure I’m providing a well rounded experience. It’s verrrryyy easy for me to over look stem and other things with her because they are def more hit or miss but i think it’s still important to have and introduce her too because you never know when her interest will change. This year will def be interesting though since we haven’t done any language or stem stuff in a lobgggggg time with her

@@theconfusedmom that's why we started to have more and more learning recources toys. They're often doing an excellent job in being pretend play toys but still helping with math, language, and STEM development. But my major issue with how rigid the subscription is, is that it is the opposite of what Montessori is (follow the child) - as if all kids are interested in the stuff at exactly that intended age (it often wasn't even within a year of when our daughter was actually interested in something). Just as examples for these boxes: The first kit of the 4 year old range is already a definitely no for me since we have already quite a Lego collection, including some of the Lego city line and a playground. So would be quite redundant. Even our 21 month old is setting up scenarios and pretend plays what she experiences with those. It just seems very late to me for a lot of kids to introduce a similar conceptual toy. We also already have the Haba Kullerbu modular ballrun, which reminds me A LOT of the ballrun in the 4th kit. That plus a Melissa and Doug clock (our daughter has recently been very interested in the clock) and that kit already also doesn't make sense to buy. We also already have a magnetic Montessori movable alphabet, and I collected quite a few language objects over time - they worked great to learn letters and sounds and I can get it out again and reuse it when she is interested in words (she actually just started wanting to write her name). The trace and erase board does seem neat but it also makes that kit questionable already for us even though I really think our daughter would like the marble maze, just because we already have most of the concepts covered. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is - they just seem late with everything in their later kits. Because whenever my kids are interested in something, I try to work with that interest. If lovevery would be more flexible with their kits, I could absolutely get subsequent items from them but I cannot buy and manage all the kits ahead of time just to also already get the next logical step to support one thing my kid is currently interested in. If that makes sense? I did that with the earlier kits and it was just too much financially and also taking too much time and storage space 😆 But my biggest annoyance with them, is that they do not sell the books separately 😂 without the books, I would have unsubscribed way earlier. Some books really aren't that great but the majority is absolutely excellent. And it sounds as if those upcoming ones are special again as well, so definitely looking for those second hand once available

@@ronjab4586 Yeah I like Learning Resources products butttt i also find their quality to be subpar to Lovevery’s And your thoughts on montessori vs subscription is basically like the consensus of everrrryyy lovevery reddit thread I’ve read through lolol I think you’re spot on with the introduction of the toys you mentioned. We’ve been moving around for about a year now without access too 90% of our stuff so any duplicates (moveable alphabet) got sold along the way so for me this is like perfect timing, but I think for many many families with 4 year olds they probably started getting at leasttt a handful of these items before 4. I was actually VERY surprised when they reached out with the 4 year old play kits. I thought for sure they were done with subscriptions because of the reasons you listed. Kids interests vary so much and parents start to get stuff quicker/more one off around this age. I had hoped they would continue making toys for 4-10 years old, so I was happy to see new products, but I really thought they were going to release it in a different format (whether by interest or by single item). Though I’m happy they didn’t do it by interest yet haha We’ve basically just had 10000 little Dollar Tree toys through our moves so I need the pre-done well rounded experience RN

So excited they finally have the 4-5yr boxes to supplement before kindergarten, but where it is the book bundle? Their books are really good. I hope they don’t introduce the book bundle in a year just to keep subscribers. The boxes do look interesting because they seem like more STEM activities vs play exploration. Personally I might hold off rejoining unless they offer a discount to previous subscribers!

I wondered about the book bundle too... I will say the books in these are LONG. Like 40-60 pages. So i dk for sure if they would do another or if they plan to wait to hear what customers are struggling with at 4-5 and tailor books to those like they did with the younger kits. I typically flip through each page in my individual play kit reviews, but for these I may do read-along videos because they are so long

Does the spelling game include objects/cards with the middle sound “i”? The only object I see is possibly the “lid” on the pan.

How do you get all the playkits at once (do you just have a gazillion subscriptions😂)? And how much room do they take up? Like you, I find that my nearly 2 yo is WAY beyond some of the stuff they send. Like sometimes by 6 months or more. Of course she is “under level” for some toys as well. She just got the Companion playkit and absolutely dominated the posting stand and I don’t see it lasting very long, at least as intended (although she, on her own initiative, started posting the dowels on the floor like dominos. It’s actually much more challenging than the posting stand). It’s a big enough item and takes up enough room, that I am frustrated we won’t get more use out of this. She’s always been super advanced at posting, stacking and puzzles. I would love if we can get a whole year at once and just go at my child’s pace.

For these, Lovevery sent them to me a month before the launch. In the past I just create multiple accounts with diff birthdays though to get stuff when I want instead of the prescribed way. Lol I did have like 3 subscriptions at one point and felt SO overwhelmed. I didn't even finish reviewing the toys like I'd hoped because I couldn't stay on top of rotating them and actually getting experience to review them. I find that just lovevery works for our family best. I do sometimes supplement with Kiwico stuff (I talked about that in my koala crate review). With all of that said, in my experience with both kids, they can "master" a toy fairly quickly and then forget how to do it in a month. And also leaving out toys they've "mastered" can lead to them using them in new ways like you mentioned. Lastly, since there are other posting activities i'd probably just sell that one if it's taking up space you need. Or keep the dowels to use in a block set and then donate the base somewhere for people to DIY their own dowels

@@theconfusedmom thanks for all the tips. Toy rotation might be the answers I might go the multiple subscriptions route. Let’s hope I stay on top of them 😂 For us Lovevery works great as well. They might be the only toys my daughter consistently plays with. I’m lucky she doesn’t have any super special interests that would necessitate a whole bunch of outside toys, such as dolls or trucks. She is much more interested reading and developing her skills, which are Lovevery’s bread and butter. I just wish they would be slightly more flexible with their timing. I’m rather confused from a business POV why they don’t do a whole year at once.

@@theproofistrivial7677 Yeah i'm surprised on that too, especially with how upset people got when they made changes, i feel like you should be able to buy everything at once if you're paying for the year but i dk. I just have 500 emails that i use to get things how i want in general haha
