I feel the same way. Both Love Bites, and Nemophila are unique from each other, yet have the same incredible quality of musicians. Both bands have the most expressive, powerful drummers in Japan. I can't wait for new material from both Nemophila, and Love Bites.

I've heard that Miho-chan made a very classy and supportive statement on social media in regards to this, and I'm glad to know that (hopefully) she's still on friendly terms with the rest of LOVEBITES (?). I was pleasantly surprised to see that Fami had made the grade, and since she's a great player, let's see what she brings to the table! I'd like to think that the other band members are open-minded enough to give her the space to contribute.

Welcome to the Lovebites Family to Fami. Fami was someone I wasn't even thinking of. Was wondering if I missed any auditions with her or not. Not that I saw them all anyway. After the reveal, which was real cool, I looked up her KZread channel and the MetalTalk article on line. Obvious why the band chose her. She brings so much to the table. Not only does she have finger pick/slap/two hand tap technique, she bring music and lyrics writing with her. Excited to see what Lovebites does next. Saw Hauruna's tweet and how emotional it was for her. That's why she is the literal and physical heartbeat of the band. Very cool they did her song Bravehearted last with Miho and first with Fami. I do hope we can get a few more Haruna penned tracks. As to all those who auditioned for Bass position. This was an amazing opportunity to get some exposure for their skills. Hope it helps some of them land gigs.

They needed a new bass guitarist, they got Basszilla.

Fami is amazing. Can't wait for their new album. She's going to be a hell of a member.

A very good choice. She will make a tremendous impact. She is an especially joyous player, very happy! And yes, she is very beautiful.

There's no shortage of talented bass players, so it all comes down to chemistry where bands are concerned. It will be interesting to see if the other members of Lovebites embrace her multiple techniques vs. keeping her on the quickly-alternating fingerpick technique that they relied on in their earlier songs -- which Fami ably demonstrated in the Bravehearted clip. I haven't associated bass slapping à la Gacharic Spin or BandMaid with Lovebites' past music or with heavy metal in general. Will the band welcome these new elements? Will they encourage her contributions as a songwriter and give her opportunities for bass solos? That's where the chemistry comes in, and that's something that none of us who saw the auditions was privy to prior to her selection. Welcome to the Fami-ly!

I think it's also no coincidence that all the musicians in the video are no longer wearing white clothes but metal typical black. They now look even more like Megadeth. Furthermore, Fami has eight times more subscribers than the Lovebites channel! 😮 Many subscribers of her will now also follow Lovebites. This is a huge step forward in their popularity. A smart choice!😊

She's using FCGR Rhino (or Anthra)...and Bacchus WOODLINE5AC-HL as headless bass (or other Bacchus guitars).

Always felt FAMI was the perfect fit for lovebites, but was perplexed why she hadn't made a video entering the contest. Another bassist i thought would have been a good fit was Wakazaemon who happens to do a lot of freelance playing with various bands and people.

@@stephenmartin6733 Just wait and see. Nobody else but Lovebites knows how Lovebites associate Fami with their sound. 4 great musicians of Lovebites may have different idea from yours, I don't know your idea though. You might be a great composer better than Miyako, I don't know.

Have you watch miho interview 2 parts in heavier japan? There's some hints why she left her band... If you read through the comments, mentioning she & others members in lovebites not friends anymore, so probably some disagreement causing her to split... Her views in metal music scenes are different from the others

this will not be a problem, just remember Trujillo on Metallica, he´s a big slapper too and fits perfect well on band focused on pizzicato as the style demands

Misa from Band Maid is a major slapper and I don't hear anyone talking about them not being hard hitting when it counts.

It is unclear why it was necessary to announce an audition to the whole world, with a request to send a video. As a result, they took a Japanese woman from KZread, who only jumped and twitched in her videos.Looking for more than a year to replace Miho is of course a fiasco. They might as well have invited Rio from Mary's Blood (the band announced a suspension anyway)Let's see what happens next

Why are you so negative? If you can’t appreciate Fami’s playing that’s your issue. Most people are happy with the choice. Also, how do you know she didn’t audition. I doubt that every person who auditioned posted it to KZread.

If I understood right, Fami, in her announcement on KZread that she had joined Lovebites, mentioned that she DID audition. Also, from what I gathered, Lovebites' hiatus lasted more than a year not only because they were looking for a new bass player, but also because two Lovebites members became mothers. So it's only natural that they took a certain time to return. Not a fiasco at all, as I see it. Anyway, I'm very happy they're back! And Fami seems to be very excited about being a member of Lovebites now, judging from her video. With all that talent in the band, I have no doubt in my mind that they will continue to bless us with great music. Welcome, Fami, and thank you, Lovebites!

I get what you mean. They were obviously going to pick a female bassist to maintain their image and having the convenience of being from Japan. I feel the worldwide "audition" was only something for the musicians all over the world to participate in than actually finding a bass player no matter what age, GENDER, and country. I'm not mad about it, I'm just not surprised. Let's see how things turn out next few years.
