For “Swan Song” Miyako combined elements of two of her favorite classics: Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude and Dvorak’s New World Symphony 🎸🔥🎹🔥🤘🐺

we all know their top masterclass as musicians, with the new songs they have even improved. but what sets them really apart from every other band is their ability to write only good, very good and masterpiece songs. look at their backcatalogue: about fifty songs and not even one filler, bad or mediocre one amongst them. that´s the most impressive thing about them for me.

Music and Arrangement by Miyako; Lyrics by Asami. The Chopin piece is also used as an exercise for the left hand. Miyako was on track to be a concert pianist or a piano sensei but choose to go into Metal Music. So she got a guitar and a "How To" book and tight herself guitar!! Miyako uses her piano, guitar and the bass guitar in writing her music. All members write songs. Asami studied ballet into her teens, including studying in Los Angeles. But she only 4'10" a bit small for a ballerina. She was selected for the strength of her vocals and that she could sing in English. She writes most of the lyrics. They send their songs to Finland for final production and engineering, same team that does Nightwish's songs.

The star symbols are decoration. They're a Haruna trademark. Sometimes, she will reach out with her stick & spin them. Miyako wrote 6 songs for the Electric Pentagram album, Swan Song, being one of them. ❤️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘

The pentagram, five-sided star, is actually a symbol believed to represent harmony and balance. In parts of Japan when Miho and Haruna were in the previous band Destrose Haruna had around 3 to 5 of them on her drum kit with her name on them Also if you check out the opening to LOVEBITES Thunder Vengeance you will see it in use with the wolfpack emblems

I agree that they got some inspiration from Swan Lake but the melody has got motif from the New World Symphony by Dovolzark and they have wrote many songs connected to romantic era classic music such as Chopin, Rachmaninov, Beethoven. This is from Beethoven Grande Sonate pathétique. Dystopia Symphony kzread.info/dash/bejne/f2xn1MiLdrzeqLQ.html

Thanks for reacting to Swan Song. I thought you two might enjoy it. Miyako started playing piano at age 3 so it it her first instrument. Let there be no doubt, Miyako is a world class concert pianist and genius music composer. Taking Chopin’s technically difficult Etude, weaving it into a metal masterpiece, and then closing out with another great classical piano piece, is nothing short of stunning. And thanks for the shout out! Happy Trails!❤

I hear a slight influence of late-Dio or post-Dio Rainbow here, something I also hear (even more so but differently) in their new song Judgement Day (which you should definitely react to, it's a banger). Miyako grew up on Rainbow and Deep Purple (her mother is a fan) and Gary Moore, and one of Midori's influences is Yngwie Malmsteen, who recycles/channels Rainbow big time.

Of all the Japanese artists I have discovered over the last three years, Miyako was at the top of the list as the one I would most want to meet. Then I discovered that her mom was the one that hooked her on Deep Purple and Rainbow and made her a fan of Ritchie Blackmore. Now Miyako's mom is at the top of the list of who I most want to meet.

The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude" In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to.When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song. Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony". Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude". "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete.

LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics: If this was the last day you could live on this earth Would you still go on, accusing someone for today It’s better to fail than not do anything at all It is not the length, but depth of life that counts Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been though despair Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to not care You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life Sometimes the life of one can save so many more Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: miyako / both Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: midori ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) from Electric Pentagram 2020

Don't know much about Iron Maiden. Miho the bassist wanted to create a band that played Iron Maiden style of music. That's why you definitely hear the Iron Maiden influence. But if you want to check out Iron Maiden I would recommend The Trooper Wasted Years Run for the Hill Aces High, There is a Lovebites song that is highly influenced by Aces High Also you should check out Lovebites Winds of Transylvania. It was a song written for an anime called Vlad Love or something like that The music video has clips from the anime.

This song has CC so you could have viewed the lyrics if you had selected it. The song was inspired by the November Revolution who Chopin wrote the beginning etude about when his country Poland failed in a revolution to their government and Russia. The song lyrics honors those who sacrificed their lives in the war.

Thanks for the reaction! "Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the Great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland. "Swan Song" ( lyrics - Asami / music - Miyako) from LOVEBITES third studio Album "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of swans is amazingly beautiful. "Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together. In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video. Asami added some Scandinavian mythology (Valhalla) to the lyrics.. The attitudes towards death among the Japanese Samurai and the Scandinavian Vikings were very similar. For Samurai and Vikings, death in battle with weapons in their hands is a death worthy of a male warrior. Death in battle is better than death from old age in your bed. All Vikings dreamed of dying in battle because then they could go to Heaven, to Valhalla (the Hall of those killed in battle) where they would meet God Odin and other Vikings who died in battles. ***** Haruna's Stars (drums) are her trademark. Haruna had the stars when she and Miho (bass) played in the band DESTROSE (before they created LOVEBITES).The Stars are spinning. Before the beginning of the song, Haruna usually twirls the Star in front with her drumstick. This is a kind of Haruna ritual. These Stars are not meant to make sounds.
