Seen them live in Edinburgh and Newcastle when they done a UK tour with Dragon Force it was great infact i am still on medication also i believe the drums and guitars have to be sent for therapy after each gig.

I'd always looked West until about 24 years ago but nothing original was coming out of the states or the uk. So I started looking East, including Scandinavia. Discovered Nightwish ... Started looking further East ... What a bonanza in Japan. 40 years ago, when Rock went down the "crapper" in the UK, Japanese Women took over the Mantle! Lovebites, BAND-MAID, Wagakki Band and Neophilia, to name just a few, are F..KING incredible! Great reaction ... :)

Love the reaction and true appreciation for these insanely talented women, masters at each position. All petite Miyako/Black has the Dean (she is a classical trained pianist from age 3 who picked up the Dean at 18 and self-taught) is the only one over 5'!!! They wear white dresses and high heels (they play the entire set in them) so they can be seen easier on stage. Asami/vocals is a 4' 10" stage commander who never sang metal, she was a backup R n B/Jazz/Soul singer who is an ex-ballerina student thus the graceful movements on stage. Midori/Blond is the Flash/Shred fiend (she dropped out of Pharmacy school and stopped piano at 20 to become a guitarist), her and Miyako are polar opposites who riff, battle and harmonize in total sync especially LIVE. Your drummer Haruna at 4' 9" needs a special arrangement of the kit but she play like this for an entire 2 hour set and doesn't break a sweat a true pocket nuke!!. This is the latest of their 50+ song catalog from 2017 when they formed. Very little touring time and yet this band is as tight and in sync as any you will ever hear especially LIVE. They define flawless perfection and one missed note out of a 19 song concert drives them nuts....Power, Speed, Thrash, Rock, Prog, Ballads and classical piano are all within their catalog and forget genre labels as these ladies can play anything they want.

Baby Metal are not just Female in the Band...Lovebites are :) One of the best Band in the World

Miyako Watanabe, the girl who has a talent for music that is unparalleled, studied the guitar she plays with the DEAN GUITARS, the model she plays is her creation and she uses these specifications when she plays: Amplifiers used: Peavey Orange amplifiers Ropes used: SIT strings Tunings used: Normal and Drop D Tuning, Miyako plays the guitar, plays the piano and is a composer, many of the lyrics of LOVEBITES are her work, Miyako is simply extraordinary, exceptional!

With respect, It is true that Miyako composes about half of LOVEBITES music, but she does not write any lyrics, with the exception of her inclusion in the credit of "LOVEBITES" for the lyrics to the song "Holy War". Asami writes lyrics with Miyako's music except for "Break The Wall", music by Miyako & Miho with lyrics by Miho. Also, Miyako uses a Peavey amp with Orange 2x12 speaker cabinet (though in the past she has had other setups on stage also). Her channel "official MIYAKO" explains alot. &:-)

"Frighteningly proficient!" You bet. Congratulations on finding the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Their founder and bassist announced her departure on Aug 17, 2021, so we can only hope they find a way forward. Meanwhile, we console ourselves with their astonishing catalogue of work. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miho and Miyako have composed most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. and aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and at this point they’ve taken it to another level. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. Miyako (black hair guitarist on right of screen) is playing a Dean ML. She also uses a Dean USA Icon and has her own signature Dean Flying V. Having discovered Lovebites back in 2017 I rather envy the buzz reactors get who are hearing them for the first time. Lovebites' live performances are flawless and better than their studio recordings, they are heavier and (vocalist) Asami's voice sounds better in an auditorium than in the studio. They are definitely the real deal.

This band has no equal. What you just saw and heard was their only standard. Perfection. Sadly, people tend to think that J-Metal = BABYMETAL, but BABYMETAL is a unit created as a project of "fusion of idol and metal" from an idol group consisting only of elementary and junior high school students who belonged to entertainment production. This is a special case. In Japan, band activities have rapidly become active since the first visit of "The Beatles" 50 years ago, and now there are more than 100 female bands alone. Among them, one of the top groups is LOVEBITES. LOVEBITES was formed by leader Miho (base) in 2016, made a major debut in 2017, and has been active mainly in Japan / UK / EU. They got a lot of attention from the music industry from early on and have already received offers from major metal festivals around the world, including "WACKEN OPEN AIR".

I did not mean that she was the one who wrote the lyrics, I meant the music, attention some information is now out of date, but I have no intention of entering into controversy, everyone can go and check, I would like to recommend listening to "MORATORIUM LIVE" by the BAND MAID, however, the video is only found on the BILIBILI Chinese platform, it can be a problem, but it is really worth listening to!

It didn't take long for me to become a Wolfpack member after I started researching them. As a musician their raw talent constantly amazes me. Suggestion:: - go a bit deeper than most and check out Unlucky Morpheus Tower of Blood - Live, or maybe Cadaver/Redavac - where the melody of the first half is played in reverse in Redavac, although the story of the song continues through both. Their musicianship is BEYOND top level - (2 outstanding lead guitars -- and a lead Violin player)
