Thanks for your analysis to this mind-blowing song. Miyako is not bored, she’s just focusing on her playing. She’s a concert level classical pianist trained since 3 years old, and she was 4-5 months pregnant in this 2 hour concert. She’s a very nice person, kind of introverted genius. I understand that you, as a real guitarist, are doing more than just a reaction. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just seven years. My next recommendation: “Break the wall” or “The hammer of wrath” or “Shadowmaker” (all live, although Shadowmaker MV is great)

guitarist miyako may look bored but believe me she is NOT. if you keep doing more LOVEBITES you will see that's her game face. she will smile once in a while and when she does - it will melt you. she just has kind of a deadpan look - you would never know by looking at her that she has said in interviews that she is quite nervous before they begin playing. she writes about half of their music and plays piano even better than guitar which she does show in some songs. she also is a great backup vocalist for the beautiful asami. miyako - all business

This was a dead venue as it was full of COVID restrictions, yet the musicians rocked the place to the ground. Miyako was a trained classical pianist and taught the instrument is what is important not the musician. Despite being 4/5 months pregnant Miyako rocked the entire set.She is a great pianist and better at it than guitar keytar, synth, bass, drums or anything else she can play IMHO. Midori/Miyako practice together away from the band so that they can play perfectly LIVE. Haruna and Asami really stood out during this entire concert.

Miyako’s “bored” look is a small criticism that a lot of people have about LOVEBITES. It’s odd to have four band members be pretty damn good performers and then there’s one who just stands there. Granted, she’s playing at a high level, but plenty of guitarists play at high levels and don’t have Resting Miyako Face. Oh well. This is one of my favorite solos from Midori, the blonde, due to that pick tapping and slide part. It’s not something you see too often. Also, Asami is _great_ on this one, especially on the chorus.

This solo section, especially on Midori's end is right out of the DragonForce play book. I've seen DragonForce live 3 times and have seen the same techniques from them. This is no slight on Midori or Miyako as I put them on pretty much the same level as Herman and Sam.

@athlonen Funny you brought up heels, I wonder what's up with Midori wearing tennis shoes on this tour? I wonder if she might be having foot problems and opted for comfort. Then again if you look at her new costume, it looks very "Athletic" and that type of shoe fits well with the costume. Who knows.
