They thankfully released 4 LIVE songs each from Knockin' At Heaven's Gate I & II on Official Channel. It interests me that they chose this 'early' song from their extensive catalogue to be performed at their "Resurrection" event with Fami. Distinctly different intro, awesome LIVE energy throughout. Reaction-vid not necessary, although I expect your reaction in comparison, with band visuals included, could be of interest to your viewers. I resisted 'liking' this song due to the subject but now in my 4th year of "LoveBitten" I cannot but say it is another 'favorite'. The structure/arrangement & solos, twin-solo, Haruna's dynamic-drumming and Asami's stellar vocals keeps my interest start to finish. Victor seems more tolerant of 'fan uploads' since the bassist auditions so I will offer some in future, but being unaware of what you have and have not heard it's a bit of a challenge of what to choose. 🐺 dreg👁

Mi-Ya was Miyako's stage name just before she became a permanent member of Lovebites at which she reverted back to just Miyako. This song exemplifies just how musically diverse this band is. To me, it has a seamless blend of AOR/speed-power metal. BTW, you should check out the ladies killing this song LIVE.

This is my favorite Lovebites song. They have another version called live from the Abyss. Very cool version as well. Great reaction!

Thank you! That actually explains a lot 😂!!! I believe I said about the classical and piano influences at some point, as well as the Miyako feel, so I am really glad this appears to play out. It furthers my respect of her writing ability as well. It is interesting she is listed externally from Lovebites.... Aha, just Google'd and she was only support in 2016 until 2017, so I am guessing when this got produced therefore 😊

One of my favourites from the album. I thought you'd like it because it's melody-driven. I mean, most of their music is melody-driven to some extent, but this one particularly so. I'd probably put Scream for Me (also very melodic but heavier) top, and Hammer of Wrath (very thrashy) joint second with this. As already mentioned, the music was written by Miyako before she was a full member of the band.

Miyako wrote “Just a Liar” when she was still in her former band A Drop Of Joker! “Liar is a rearrangement of “Just a Liar” Lyrics by Dr. U who is an American male friend of Miyako who lives in Japan. Also watch the Live version, it’s even better!

They also have a version with Fami Live at Knocking on Heavens Gate also Fami covers Hammer of Wrath without the Awakening instrumental at Knocking on Heaven's Gate.(1st song live since 2021 when Miho left they took a year Hiatus before returning and auditioning to get Fami, also 1st time live with Fami and Asami addresses the audience saying "We Are Back!!!" as the song starts)

@@BryanPedersen-vd6gy I know that I have suggested to many reactors they may want to react to both to compare the bass and see how great Miho was and why Fami has big shoes to fill. ]:)

This is one of my favorites from their first album. I don’t listen to LOVEBITES so much but I was first in the queue to get VIP tickets for San Francisco! I also think the only better vocalist in the genre was R!N but she left, so… 🤷🏻‍♂️ I prefer Asaka’s style and her emotional range, but Asami is top tier whichever way you look at it. The detractors I hear don’t like her accent, which is a bit of an odd reaction to English in an operatic metal style. What do they expect, Freddie Mercury? Objectively, Asami is better… 😬 Fami was perhaps a catalyst for some new life. She is excellent herself but everyone lifted a level when she joined.

Although I’ve been critical of certain Lovebites songs, Liar was never one of them. I feel the same way about Edge of the World, Scream for Me, and Burden of Time, all from the same album. None of which are my favorites, but all of which are good. By contrast, I think have more issue with the Judgement Day album, which can sort of feel more repetitive to some of the older albums. Having said that, songs like Soldier Stands Solitarily and Dissonance are some of the better songs overall. Although I like Hammer of Wrath from the same Awakening album, I don’t prefer the vocals on that one (doesn’t play well to Asami’s vocal abilities, yet overall doesn’t come off as bad as Break the Wall and Thunder Vengeance), especially in contrast to the better vocals of Edge of the World (which fits Asami better) from the same album. Still a good song though, and one I recommend. To me the best Lovebites songs are: A Frozen Serenade (especially the live version), Paranoia, Dystopia Symphony, Soldier Stands Solitarily, Dissonance, Judgement Day. Although three are from the Judgement Day album, I still have issues with the album as a whole regardless (like how the continuous uptempo drumming prevents some much needed deviation for that album).
