I’mma be honest, when I did the test (with Karlach) I assumed that the dryad somehow knew all the answers magically and was totally sincere. Probably didn’t help that I was playing an oathbound paladin.

And it still works to pass the test, too, technically - because it means you know him well enough to know he wouldn't want you to give true answers in front of a stranger.

Same because I was honest (Orin wasn't the plant lady in my play through) and he disapproved :'( but at the end he said this and I was happy.

Astarion's end reaction had my dying because it was so damn true. "I cant even tell if any of you are acting strange because you've been replaced or because this group is full of weirdos!" Maaaaan, so damn true.

Obviously. A well-rounded party must be a rag-tag band of opposites. That way you got all skills covered and best opportunities for banter.

I love how he starts off looking uncomfortable but as you give the answers he likes he starts smiling more 🥺 And then that face at the end when he gets serious again and approaches you too ahh Also.. isn't running water dangerous for a vampire like him? Imagine if he slipped on the moss and fell 😭

normaly yes. but he did say that the tadpool chanced the rules. he can walk in the sun, enter a house without being invited and he did say something about running water to xD

@@SuperYumi1000 Ooh I wasn't sure anymore, but I guess the tadpole would change that! I recall Larion making Astarion avoid running water in Early Access, but I guess they decided it was more trouble than it was worth to both the players and the devs 😆

I remember him taking damage from a river during EA, I was almost a little bummed I couldn't stand in the water and watch him take hit after hit anymore. Love him though.

I don't know if Orin is always said person because can have a run where pass the test and they stay the dryad. I know when do certain things first sometimes the people she could be don't change. When go do the whole coronation and get told that orins plan for you she doesn't appear from the dryad. When i get on i guess i can check by killing her to see.

The dryad isn’t always Orin. The game randomly generates which NPC’s are Orin and which aren’t each playthrough. If you pay attention, you can actually hear she says different lines as herself versus as Orin. Orin calls you bond fragile while the real nymph says it’s sweet as morning dew. It’s the same with some other characters too, I think. Watch out for anyone and everyone who talks slightly off.

@@mickymcbryan4814wait really? That’s so cool! My first encounter with her was as a flaming fist guy guarding a barn, I think his name was Rowan. He seemed normal at first and even kinda cool, saying how he wanted to help the refugees and tell off the Baldurians harassing them, but then he quickly got weird about it and said we should kill them, and then Orin popped out. Then, of course, I also got this scene with her as the Dryad. I figured those specific characters were just always meant to be her so I was gonna remember them for next play through and maybe get the drop on them lol but I guess I should be careful if they’re not always her after all

I am at this part of the game right now and I reload to see the different outcomes. He is putting up a show, because he doesn't want to tell a stranger all these things - understandably. I was a little surprised, but not really, that Astarion doesn't want "revenge" most but "freedom". You really need to listen closely and read between the lines to somehow understand this man. He is really a sweetheart, if he is allowed to show that.

I totally agree with u that freedom would have been a much better choice and make him a better person in some ways…but whatever, this is how the writers put him

I answered the last one different but got the same result (Two hearts beating in a perfect rhythm). Oh and I did this after killing Orin - so for me it was a real Dryad and I didn't see the Orin part. I think I missed out...
