Thats adorable. My cats are hard to handle, I find the wriggle too much if my whole hand is under their from legs so I put my index and middle finger in between their front legs towards their chin so my hand acts like a chest harness (those T snapped harnesses you see for dogs) when I do that I have slightly moire control over their front legs and I'm able to stroke under their chin while I groom. And if you do this with a little sent of tuna or something they tend to put their heads down looking for food and keep their butts up for grooming

It's hard to get my cat on his belly. He's a red Persian one year old and never enjoyed being groomed. Not sure what his breeders were doing

SOOOO sweet and so beautiful! What a good little boy Beau!!! If only my 9 lb. white Persian were this cooperative. He acts like I’m trying to KILL him and he very vocally let’s me know how mad he is at me for putting him through the grooming. My boy gets knotted just walking by I swear! When he tries to groom his own ruff under the chin the very top of his head has to go all the way back and touch the back of his neck and he still can’t get his tongue through to the end of his fur, which means a lot of help grooming is needed - he doesn’t believe in making it easy unfortunately. I’ve had to resort to having a groomer come in once a month to trim the hair around his ruff, under his chin and on his tummy. I do as much as he’ll let me the rest of the month to keep the matting down as best I can, but honestly, there are many times I have to snip the mats out before they get too close to his skin. I am so afraid of accidentally nicking his delicate skin.☹️ Do you have any suggestions that might help me make grooming less unpleasant for him (and less nerve wracking for me)? I’m very careful to make sure he has his feet on the hard surface at all times when grooming so he feels secure and I’m very careful to not pull hard on knots so that it’s pulling on his skin. I didn’t get him until he was a year old, so we didn’t start together like you did with Beau, Where can I find a comb like yours that has the rotating teeth? Does it have a specific name? If I knew what it is called I could look for it online. Getting that type of comb might be the first step in making grooming more pleasant for my Persian. Thank you Dr. Mona!💕
