Love this song and God bless Babyface...that's why this song has an R&B vibe. If you can write hits for Eric Clapton, Madonna, and Boyz II Men, you're the real deal. Even with all the awards he's won I still feel like he's underrated as a singer/writer/producer.

There is an incredible beautiful film from 1996 Phenomenon with John Travolta,Forest Whitaker,Kyra Sedgwick and Robert Duvall . A great story drama romance in which this song is featured at the end.

I'm a longtime fan of Eric Clapton. This man has a long storied history with various groups. He was a guitarist for The Yardbirds (as was Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page) and when I first discovered his music, he was in a band called Cream. He was the driving force behind Derrick and the Dominoes and of course his solo career. I have his albums, Slow Hand, Another Ticket and 461 Ocean Boulevard. This song is one of his many masterpieces. Peace & Love.🕊❤

Did you know Eric Clapton was one of those Great Britain artist who adored the black soul, jazz music from the South, USA? He came here and formed a bound with BB. King. He, Rolling Stones and many other British artist loved the soul, jazz sound of southern US. My most regrettable moment was not purchasing tickets to see BB King in Jackson, MS. My daughter was young and we were military family who had just moved here. BB King was a dream list to see in concert.

It is interesting that you reacted to Eric Clapton and George Harrison on the same day, as they were good friends and even were married to the same woman (at different times). Between the two of them there are many songs written about her. 'Layla' and 'Wonderful Tonight' written by Clapton and “Something” and “I Need You.” written my Harrison while he was with the Beatles. He wrote others during his solo career but they were after their divorce and not about love.
