You have no idea how this story hits home with me. My girlfriend had been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer when she was 35. She has since. Passed on but forever is in my heart. You wish you had a magic wand to wave over someone and make it all go away, but it's not reality. Although I was never married I f feel like I fulfilled al the vows.

This is an emotionally touching & heartfelt video. I'm so glad that Suleika has a boyfriend & that she is not alone as she battles cancer & has to endure medical treatments. It's much better fighting & battling serious medical issues with someone by your side & not alone. Love gives something happy for people with medical problems to fight & live for. It gives them a focus & goal outside of medical treatment. Seamus is a great guy for loving & caring for her & staying by her side no matter what.

Sadly last month she wrote on her facebook page that her leukemia has returned after almost a decade being cancer free. She is currently doing chemoterapy and will need a second bone marrow transplant. I still cannot believe it, she looked so healthy. It is really unfair, she is a very good person, beautiful and talented young woman. I was so happy she was cured from that disease and now she is fighting again 😢💔

My oncologist always asked his patients to shave their heads after the first chemo. People who have never walked the walk sometimes think you are doing it for attention. But it's because the hair falling out is such a perfect analgy for cancer. It happens. But it's messy, it's painful when you do have to pull clumps, it gets in the way and clogs things up. It's a mess. I'm glad I listened and shaved.

She’s lucky to have someone like that by her side. I was diagnosed with AML at 28 and I was in a relationship for almost a year by that point, unfortunately I didn’t receive the same support. We tried to make it work but it was hard, like my illness didn’t exist to him. It was often looked over or disregarded… I hid things well, kept a lot to myself… and I think that made everyone believe I was “ok”. It’s hard to explain things exactly as I intend then to come across in a summary.

I had to be isolated for a while and he wanted to go out and do things. I only saw him once a week during my time in the hospital. Cancer can be a lonely disease. And a terrible time to he betrayed.

I had to choose between eggs and embryos as well with my partner of 11 mos. I won't share my election but I think Suleika chose a safe option in that it leaves less social pressure on either partner to remain in the relationship if they wish to leave. Since eggs are each 1 cell, and embryos are over 100-therefore more likely to thaw successfully after freezing- it can be a daunting choice to make. I wish them all luck, love and happiness.

I can't really imagine how could someone leave his girlfriend/boyfriend when he/she faces something like cancer...You didn't felt in love with that person because he/she is healthy...You felt in love because you saw a great person that you could have a wonderful life with... To be honest,I have never had experience like that but it would be so cruel to beak up with her beacuse she has cancer... God bless them who are staying by the side of their loved ones....!!!!

As someone with cancer and CSF I can understand it. You say a wonderul life, but life is not wonderful when someone is ill and you have to stay at home or in a hospital all the time, have no energy for nothing. Especially when you are young and want to explore the world and have a family. When I got my diagnosis I was already single, my ex had divorced me 2 years before. And sometimes I think that is better than adding heartbreak on top of the diagnosis. Even with friends, the docs sometimes ask, don't you have any friends that can help. Apart from the fact that I only have a selected number of real friends, and it's hard to care or a freindship when you totally lack the energy to do so, I understand that people have their own lifes too. Some of my friends experience lack of energy themselves, being torn between financial problems (just a normal life has become so expensive with rents rising), family respocibilities and duties at work. When they come home, they are simply tired.

Um, please don't depress yourself, because first of all, she's not dead; and second, that's not really true, is it? It is very sad when cancer interrupts a young life, or any disease or accident. Thankfully it is quite rare, nowadays. Remember that children used to die in infancy in huge numbers, from things like measles, polio, smallpox, whooping cough, typhoid, diphtheria, scarlet fever, and other infectious diseases that were endemic before vaccines were invented, and clean water and public sanitation were not widely available. So God doesn't get them early anywhere near so often as he used to.

But when i read the bible verses in NKJV 1. corinthians 20-28 especially 26: "The last enemy that has to be destroyed is death." i was shocked and relieved. God gives life, saves and resurrects. Death takes away! Now it makes sense to me and i wonder why this is not preached more. Hopefully this helps even after years. God bless you
