Theres something about watching a shoe be handmade that is completely satisfying to me.

I come back to this video every couple of years. It is easily one of my favorites on the entire internet.

Made in Italy is just a false moniker of quality, it is essentially “made in China” because most of the workforce comprises of Chinese migrants and expats. The quality control and the amount of time each article has for assembly is what distinguishes the shoes, obviously the materials are going to be in line with a higher caliber than what you typically find in Asian countries, but not in all cases.

What quality the heel is glued on separate from the sole

I love watching craftsmen at work. It doesn't matter what they are making or doing, a craftsman is always a pleasure to watch.

I recently purchased a pair of sneakers from Louis Vuitton and was amazed by the quality. It's really captivating to see the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and precision in the creation of a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes.

He painted the sole to perfection and gave a mirror shine to it. So now you have to carry them in hands and walk barefoot.

These are the only shoes I hold a high regard for, my drivers are gorgeous and knowing they’re not sweatshop products is nice to know 🎉

That was simply amazing. The craftsmanship, the focus, the intimacy, really quite moving if you ask me, lol!!! It was almost like watching a “Ballet” of sorts. I know I must sound kinda creepy going on about the making of a pair of shoes, but, I really appreciate artistry, in all of its many forms. Be well.

I'd love to learn how to make shoes yourself. My 4th great grandfather was a shoe maker before the Civil War. He joined the NY 114th at 40 yo.

As I worked on the Paris Haute Couture collections of Ralph Rucci for 3 yrs, I know a bit about fine craftsmanship and I was awed by your film. It nearly made me cry. I am sharing it on to fashion friends. I so admire fine handwork & fine film making. Bravo! :D

That is a classic example of a person taking pride in their work, & what they do for a living. You know he's serious about his work when you wear a Lab Coat. Worth every Penney, & then some.

This is like on those cooking shows when the owner cooks one time for the camera

These shoes are like Bentley cars, beautifully built and the attention to detail is extraordinary. However just like Bentley cars, more than half of the costumers buy them just because of the status and image it gives. The only thing they appreciate is the badge, they do not care about how they are made and how beautiful these things are. Sad story, and please stop the hate, not everything is made in china, nor should it be like that either. It is somewhat sad that so many things are no more locally made anymore, if you love your country buy local items when you can because it shows that you actually care. Think about it, if people did not buy those shoes then all the brilliant workers who have worked in those factories for years and maybe even generations would be out of job

"Highest quality", I can tell by what you say that you don't know anything about high quality shoes. You can see that he uses quite a bit of glue attach a big chunk of the heel and I did not see a speck of shaven cork. Hand made high quality Italian shoes are made with compounds of leather and or wood so it can be rebuilt when worn down and nailed down to last. The brand Louis Vuitton is marketed to gullible women with their tasteless logo printed all over it but also has a market for fooling dumb men with mass produced aesthetic items that don't know what quality is to take money they don't have. When you're pathetic and think Louis Vuitton shoes are high quality.

***** Any decent shoe maker has handcrafted shoes, even the cheaper ones. You can get handcrafted shoes from Loake for less than $200, though they're handcrafted in India. Their cheapest shoes that are handcrafted in the UK are still fairly cheap at ~$230.

They're not. Nobody welts a shoe by hand anymore. Its is both more time consuming and inferior to using a sewing machine. This is clearly for cinematic effect.

I had the most comfortable, black and classy LV 11 M shoes when I lived in Paris France. They were about $700/pr. It rained so bad one afternoon that I lost my LV duffle and shoes when a car hit my Mercedes. I was rushed to the hospital. A fractured ankle and grateful to be alive we’re at the top of my list BUT those shoes were MY FAVORITE!! So comfortable I could use them for lunch and dinner or visit family with them. I sure wish LV made them again
