I like watching Louis documentaries but in answer to the title of this I would say Louis believes himself intellectually superior to all his subjects.

Have you seen him on university challenge?! If he does think that he might be right most of the time lol. In fairness it could also be the accent + the introversion giving off that vibe.

Yes, good observation and I'd also say morally superior as well. Someone commented that he has a faux naivety which I think sums him, or rather his technique up quite well.

I'm just blown away that this english man keeps mispronouncing participatory over and over.
