Our pug does the same thing! They are all little sock bandits at heart.

I never dreamed any kind of music could so perfectly encapsulate the feeling of chasing a pug! My first pug Daisy was a smarty though. She only chewed socks with a knot in the middle. Dangle a regular sock and she ignored it. But she could watch you tie that knot and as soon as you tugged the ends she was on the attack.

That's to cute and he doesn't look guilty at all though you couldn't be mad with that face.
