You know the score my man. Those 3 Gods of the physique world got sidelined in one way or another whenever the powerful and whimsical Weiders felt like it. Clear to see the scandalous way Sergio, Robbie, and Serge were treated throughout the ages, and that was only if they were invited to compete. In some well reported cases they got froze out due to some trumped up misdemeanour with allegiance to organisations. In other words the Weiders dissed and played political shenanigans with these guys careers.

@@SPASEINC Of course my friend, anytime. I will always support anyone who has integrity and believes in fair play and not give a biased narrative. It’s long overdue that the TRUTH be put out there on this topic. For far too long a corrupted system and historical narrative has been allowed to thrive in regards to the Weider brand and the ugly corruption and ruining to an extent of careers of excellent competitors due to twisted cutthroat business practices and R@cism / bigotry. The United States has a very long, sordid historical culture of exploitation and r@cial prejudices supported by discriminatory actions that have hampered and outright damaged the lives of many people of varying degrees. Robbie Robinson is symbolic of that but in his case he forged on in spite of the poison that he had to endure from an era that encouraged that kind of oppression.

Lee Haney won the Olympia 8 times and was showcased on muscle and fitness covers only twice. Meanwhile Arnold who was long since retired was getting coverage on the front pages and hadn’t done a damn thing in all that time. Weiders excuse was always black competitors don’t sell but Haney was showcased on the covers of Iron Man and other magazines and they sold very well. Weider had NO CHOICE but to take on black competitors because in the 80s going forward there was a large dearth of them who were VERY GOOD Who had entered the sport. In order to keep his brand going he had no choice but to go along with the times if he wanted to stay relevant and keep his brand going. It was about business NOT fairness and the goodness of his r@cist heart. And his bigotry continued in the 90s when he told Kevin Levrone who had a large following that he ( Weider) felt that Kevin would make a fine champion but he needed Yates because he was white, to break into the European market. He felt the popular Levrone would not sell which was a narrative and lie Weider used whenever he had a white competitor whom he felt fit the script to be the face of his brand. You people need to do your research before you speak IGNORANTLY About a topic that you’re clearly not well educated on. And if you ARE then you’re simply being disingenuous and deliberately going with the narrative that most rose colored subconscious bigots go by.

Just like the Oscars, i just cannot cosign the legitimacy of cheating someone out of something they deserved because of politics, expediency, making up for a previous mistake. Etc. The best film, actor, soundtrack whatever THAT year should win. Same for the Olympia or any physique contest. If it doesn't happen like that, the award is worthless garbage from a corrupt organization.

Wow! This is so messed up. I still remember, here is South Africa - when the bookkeeping and match-fixing saga happened in cricket. It DID...obviously involve more than Cronje and OUR very amazing (IMO) Proteas. It totally crushed me and ate away at the integrity of the sport and the spirit of competition it held. i never quite worked out WHY the competition prize money didn't sate the players and give them the pride and satisfaction equal to, if not more - than how I felt every time I saw the Proteas make fairly light work of fielding FIRST (which, given how great they were at it, they chose when they won the toss). It baffled me. But then again...I was in my early teens. But...to compete in a predetermined contest! That's a bit too much. All that said - WOW...the grace and humility in the face of all that! I salute Mr Robinson.

hearing Robby's story I think if Sergio Oliva had beaten Arnold at Mr O we wouldn't have had any "Terminator", governor or Arnold Classic, only the Myth with 8, 9 or even 10 titles in a row! But in the 70's Weider was in charge of everything so little chance of that happening, in '94 he missed the mark! 😝 Robby is such an inspiration, it's already a banality saying that, however I'm thinking he's such a positive person and a powerful spirit, he got stronger despite all these setbacks, maybe if he had been rich and famous he would have followed a different path in his life (you know, doing drugs and all that bad stuff)... so don't have any regrets Robby, maybe you don't have a Sandow in your collection but you are a champion in life and so many people appreciate you ... and man those guns in that picture next to Sergio and Serge 😯

It's amazing how people who are not Black find these inside stories amazing, and I agree, they are, but what about the empathy of it all? What about understanding these stories ruined multiple generations of Black families for hundreds of years??!! Why doesn't anyone champion correcting the wrong done to Black people in America??? It's that part no one wants to address. Our stories of racism are merely entertainment and that's it, no redemption or reconciliation. Just entertainment. Something to think about.

Very well put Sir. I for one NEVER found these stories Amazing or a revelation because America 🇺🇸 was founded on exploitation, cultural eradication and false narratives that have been the bedrock of its history right up until today. And I agree whole heartedly that severe damage has been done to those who were the recipients of institutionalized and systemic r@cism . Imagine how the careers that men like Robbie Robinson, Sergio Olivia, Serge Nubret ….. could have been had they been competing on a level playing field and were able to reap the financial benefits of that success? As someone who believes in fair play and finds r@cism to be filthy, evil and extremely corrosive, it rightfully angers anyone black or white with INTEGRITY When they see the fallout of such practices. I don’t support the IBBF And never will support it given its history and the toxic corruption that Weider engaged in and how it did heavy to irreparable damage to black competitors and to even some of the white competitors who didn’t fit the so called script.

I remember that competition, it was close, sometimes I felt like Lou should've won but Robbys physique is hard to beat, Robby had the biceps, v taper and small waist, Lou had the massive chest, it was close, it was an amazing competition. Boyer looked good but a bit too flat

So you are saying that Robby had by far the better physique, and Lou only had a big chest. But Lou should have won? You sound like you should be a judge for today's shows.

Every year it seems that Robbie has a new story and complaint about something or somome. He constatly is critical of everyone including competitors today. He sounds jaded and his stories sound fictitious.
