Muita energia, muita alma, sem mais, dispensa comentários.
It was either Lou Reed or Suzi Quatro in Wellington New Zealand 1974 who was my first concert. I loved Sweet Jane especially. At the Wellington concert, the gig was amazing and the Intro and music to Sweet Jane was almost identical to Rock n Roll Animal. This is very different. I think when I saw the band, one of the guitarists had a bald head. Am I right? Also, the keyboards here are very prominent. Cant remember any Keyboards when I saw him

It seems as though Lou Reed toured Wellington on 30 Aug 74, and Suzi was around May. Lou came back to Wellington the next year. Not sure exactly what happened, but I think he was so out of it that the show and rest of the tour was cancelled. Rated as one of the worst gigs in NZs history. Oasis was number one worst lol
You see. That is music.
Predecessor to the rappers. Not necessarily a singer, but a fast rhythmic talker.
amazing
How amazing is Prakash John’s hair? Almost as impressive as his actual bass playing.
Prakash John bringing the bass cool.

Bass player too smooth
Good Jams
Yep !
What if we would feed the first 2:16 into ChatGTP and ask it bring it to wind it down in another minute or so. That would be the best instrumental ever.
That bass, cocaine is a hell of a drug...

I think the same.
❤
This performance is so far from the album version, it makes you think they must have been at the beginning of the tour, and had not yet evolved into the band that performed so incredibly on that album. Here, they're fine. There, they're flawless and every note is dialed in, with feeling. It's a bit odd considering Lou's history and style, to have a band like this here that would later back Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare, but I am so glad he played with them.
😮❤👍👏

How about that bass player laying it down.
Band was killing it, but not one of Lou Reed's better performances.
Take a seat. Good. You can sit down and not get up easily. You are my decsiple of HAIR,. i AM EXCITED.
This band outshines Lou Reed by an order of magnitude.

"outshines"? How... on musicianship? Yes, they do. So what? It's Lou's song. His vibe, his way, his heart and soul. I don't see the relevance of your comment.

This band wouldn't be on that stage playing Lou's song if it weren't for Lou. They were great, but you would never be watching and listening to this if it weren't for him.

Lou Reed's song "Waiting for My Man" is a track from The Velvet Underground's debut album, The Velvet Underground & Nico, released in 1967. The song describes a person's experience traveling to Harlem in New York City to buy heroin from a drug dealer, referred to as "the man." It's known for its candid portrayal of drug culture and the matter-of-fact narrative that depicts the desperation and routine of addiction. The music itself is simple and repetitive, mirroring the cyclical nature of the subject's habit. This song is one of the early examples of Reed's direct and unflinching approach to songwriting about taboo subjects.
