i suspect that he paid for the ticket to the controller (you can do that, though it costs a bit more than buying from the train station), and cut out the scene. or maybe he said he's english and lost all his money and he got off free of charge (?)

Discovered your channel about a year and a half ago and I love it. It became a tradition to watch it before going to bed. It's just intresting and really entertaining.

Finally in Romania! Btw, that train was going straight to Budapest, but you did a great job getting off on time. You could've made it all the way to Biharkeresztes, the problem from there is that a Hungarian conductor checks your ticket again and the international tickets look way different to the national ones haha so giving him your ticket wouldn't have worked

Budapest is a must visit, Simon! My fave city in the whooooole world to visit with so many things to see and do and easy to get around on public transport. Careful sneaking on the Metro, lots of stations have ticket inspectors before you're even let down the escalators. You could try to sneak in on the Matyas Church in the castle district, I once went in before noticing I needed a ticket for that. noone had said anything, but when I noticed I was a good girl and bought a ticket. I went up the tower of that 195 steps - great views from there. The parliament building should be harder to sneak in, they also have a proper security check. But there's also places you can see for free, like Heroe's square (Hősök tere in Hungarian), the city park (Városliget)with the grounds of Vajdahunyad castle, Saint Stephen's (szent István) basilica is free or costs very little and is breathtakingly gilded and decorated on the inside. The tower (also has some admission also offers a great view), or just walk around (maybe along the Danube and take in the vibe of the city. If I was there now I'd offer to give you to be or tourguide for Budapest. Enjoy and if you need any advice on more sights / transport etc. give a shout! I am always happy to help.
