PREACH!!!

This is a story time comment but I feel the need to share it. I began listening to MBDTF in High School. Around the time with my first girlfriend. And I fell in love with the entire project. I wrote English essays deconstructing each song. In Orchestra I learned the "All of the Light Interlude" for violin, And in Speech and Debate I preformed the "Who Will Survive in America?" speech. To say the perfect album consumed my life would be a massive understatement. It drew me into other rap legends like Kendrick Lamar and let me actually begin discovering the rap genre as a whole. As well as giving me a massive love for the other vocalist on this track Bon Iver. My GF Broke up with me. It was probbaly the single greatest pain I ever felt at that moment when I was so young. I fell into a great pain as I kept this song on repeat. I don't know why but it reminded me of better times. The amount of times I cried myself to sleep after class, petting my cat to this song played over and over is too much to count. And this remix brought those powerful emotions together. My throat hurts. But this remix is perfect, I can't remember a stronger feeling of the past then I do with this video right now. And if KZread deletes it I will actually fight them.

My absolute favorite part, it works SO well

i mean the og song is already a masterpiece, but this is too. This is more fulfilled but it wouldn't fit in with the album because it would be very drawn out compared with the other songs and moments on this album (ignoring Runaway ofc but we give that a pass), and with mbdtf already being a maximalist album this wouldn't fit in cuz the moments are too focused on one idea (if that makes any sense). Still a godly edit tho seriously, this is better than the og of course I'm just saying there's a reason Kanye didn't take it this far. LOVE THE WORK KEEP IT UP

I feel towards the end of the album, the imperfectness of the songs are what makes them perfect too. This, as you said, feels almost too complete and fleshed out in the direction of one specific idea.

I only listen to this song maybe once a year just cause I don't ever want to overplay it and I've never had any of my friends play this song or mention it even though we all listen to Kanye.

Including the full Gil Scott-Heron speech at the end is a fucking chad move, bravo man. Really makes the song take a sudden turn almost scolding the listeners for applauding Kanye's displays of materialism and excess, trying to draw your attention to the bigger issues at stake only for the listeners to cautiously applaud, or simply half-hear the message. Really uses the sample to its fullest potential

I really love that he took one of the best live performances by Bon Iver, used it as an INTRO for one of the most amazing songs he's created, and now it's been modified even further to make this awesome song.. To do all that and keep a storyline of being lost in the world, which was taken from 'lost in the woods'... its just mind blowing to me and its a prime example of his genius

The start of this I could listen to on a loop. Not taking anything away from the rest of the song because LITW is one of the best tracks Kanye has made, but damn. CHILLS
