As a well-used (but rarely well-paid) v/o radio & television announcer for well over 50 years, if I had to name my favorite among my announcer peers it would be Dick Tufeld far and away. His voice was 1000% better than mine, and I totally admired him. They say jealousy is a sin, and I freely admit to that every time I heard Dick's voice. The others voices I revered were radio preachers Garner Ted Armstrong and Steve Brown., both of I met and both told me I had a great voice. Boy, that'll humble you really quick!! Dick, you are greatly missed!

I had the accidental great fortune of meeting Mr Tufeld’s daughter in Italy when I was there for three weeks with my father, in late 1997. Melissa approached us when my dad and I were talking about a Caravaggio painting we were looking at, I said something about science fiction, she overheard that, and stepped up to introduce herself and to mention who here dad ways. It was a most amazing moment. I stayed in touch with Melissa and when I was in Los Angeles in 1999 visiting at Ray BRADBURY’s home for the first time, Melissa invited me over to her mom’s and dad’s home in Studio City to meet her father. It was a great time, and Richard signed my Franklin Mint model B9 robot for me. That signature has since faded to nothing, but the happy memories are etched permanently in memory.

Bobby May wasn’t the robot, he was inside the costume, but Dick Tufeld was the robot. Dr Smith exchanged barbs with Tufeld. He acted. Bobby’s words were live when they shot the show. Tufeld had the robot voice that acted in exchange with Smith which were funny.

"Bobby May wasn’t the robot, he was inside the costume, but Dick Tufeld was the robot." So, Bobby wasn't the robot even though he was inside the costume? Bobby May was the physical robot, while Dick Tufeld was the voice of the robot. They were both still the robot. Like James Earl Jones and David Prowse were both Darth Vader.

Don Diego Vega, that's what I think Exactly and I've been posting and saying that for years and you are the only one that seems to feel the same way that I do. Dick Tufeld was the person of the robot, Tufeld was the heart, soul and brain of the robot, May mostly did the movements. I don't understand why they say Bobby May was all that.

@@scootergreen3 bob may was all that .when he was in part costume or full body costume he was the robot .. he was all right because he gave the robot his movements rather he was on his tracks or the flashing talking light he controlled the whole outfit... Dick tolfield just supplied The voice and that's it... Without Bob May there was no robot.

Dick tufeld who has a voice that will always be etched in my mind. He was the robot. A voice I grew up with then heard again years later in 1997 as the robot again in the movie. His voice hadn't changed a bit. It was like stepping into a time capsule. I remember hearing the narrator's voice and then hearing a robot and thinking they sound so much alike. Because they were. It was the same man. Great memories attached to this. Long Live Lost in Space.

What was the rest of that part, and if it is you, why would you give away your position of wanting to kill someone, someone as nice as the voice of the robot and anyone else. I feel like people just post stuff like this to get arise or joke about very important topics.
