Spider Smith gave me nightmares as a kid 😳 bizarrely, to me, he was creepier before he revealed his full form; I think it's the way he stomped around in that hooded cloak as he towered above everyone.

Joey finally lands a role in a movie
Two things I want to say about this scene... 1. The part for future Will was supposed to go to the actor that played the original Will in the 60s TV show. He declined it because he thought it would have confused the audience. 2. I love how Spider-Smith appears at 1:25. The younger Smith even knows what's coming and it makes it terrifying. I even love how Spider-Smith repeats "Never fear. Smith is here". I just love how he interacts with his younger self in addition with saying "I never liked me anyway".

Spider 🕷️ Smith: Sweet Dreams 😴
So is no one gonna argue that Smith killing his past self should somehow create a paradox causing his future spider self to not exist or are we just following Avengers endgame time travel laws in this movie?
@19TheFallen
2 жыл бұрын
He didn't die. Somehow, he survived the fall in the movie. Otherwise, yes, it would've created a temporal paradox.......But then, again......The middle and end of the movie contain circumstances that are, as a whole, a great big temporal paradox........The circumstances under which Smith was even bit/stung was a paradox, for one: They entered into a time bubble, encountering an abandoned ship that was sent out to search for them that wouldn't be built for a few years, and Smith was bit/stung by space spiders that, technically, shouldn't have even been there, if not for the time bubble that was formed as a result of future Will's experiments with time. Then, there's the fact that Spider Smith killed future Will's sisters and mother and Major West.......but, due to the events at the end, they survived-Not once, but twice. Once, on account of Spider Smith's attack never occurring due to the alterations in time, but also because future Will sent his father back in time after he saw the others all die........past Will included, I might add, meaning that future Will, by all accounts, should not exist.......trying to fly off the planet. *Edit* (I forgot to mention that past Smith was on the ship as it was destroyed, as well, so there's another paradox.) Something that was altered by his father's suggestion to fly through the planet as it collapsed and use its gravity to sling them off into space instead after being sent back in time by future Will.........
@jasonalbran376
2 жыл бұрын
I think of it not so much a paradox but alternate timelines were created. Similar to how The Ancient One in Endgame explained to Banner-Hulk (Bulk?). The original Smith was from the original Timeline and Spider Smith was apart of an alternate timeline. I'm assuming future Will sent the father back to the original timeline to escape but future Will was now trapped in an alternate timeline as he is now part of that timeline as the sole survivor of the Jupiter II. Or Future Will and Future Spider Smith were the future selves of the original crew. However, with Will and Spider Smith's tampering with the machine it created a temporal field where allowed their past selves of the original timeline to stumble into the future. Therefore creating an alternate timeline. It could explain why Spider Smith wasn't erased from existence after killing his past self. If he did then none of the events leading up to that point would have happened and there would've been a resetting of the timeline. A paradox would mean that Spider Smith couldn't leave for the past or whatever plan was I barely remember the whole movie It kinda like Reverse Flash becoming a Paradox after the Regime killed am ancestor trapping him in the past. You absolutely could go round and round with multiple theories. I prefer the alternate timeline creation theory as it would explain how Spider Smith was able to survive after killing his younger self. The movie gets buggy around the end. It felt rushed. So it's tough to say. I love the concept of time travel. Virtually endless theories and even a variety of scifi literature, film and TV ideas can be created with it. Unfortunately, the concept does get confusing and I can see why most people don't like it.

@@glennwatson3313 - No, it's one theory/version of time travel used various media. The idea you can never interact with your past or future self. Timecop had a better concept with that theory. You can interact with you past self but the same mass cannot occupy the same space. Not the normal rule that defines matter but the exact same molecules coming in contact with one another. While it doesn't makes but I don't think seeing your order self will do anything to the timeline or create a paradox but the mere act of altering your past could cause a Butterfly Effect.
Saw this movie when I was like 12 and all I could remember only existed as a weird fever-dream-like experience.
