It was ridiculously soft, given that he was entrusted to protect her child and he ran away. I was chewed out at work worse than that more minor mistakes let alone endangering a child. She should have slapped him hard and told him that he will not be allowed out with the children unless a proper adult is present.

BULLOCKS!! A great name for our British audience! Watching this series in later years, did you ever notice how the intergalactic police were?? Always accusing the Robinsons? Then when they were proven innocent, never offered to help them get home! All That Glitters, Prisoners of Space, West of Mars, Condemed of Space, Fugitives of Space, Deadliest of the Species, Two Weeks in Space….etc..Always either threatening or totally incompetent!

They had to recast and reshoot his scenes because when he came on screen, a large segment of the audience started laughing reflexively because of his work as Al Bundy.

At the point 2:39 Mr. Iving I think Maureen Robinson is to soft for her own good. Any other mother would have given Doctor Smith a slap round the face. It is a miracle that Doctor Smith was never called a big baby all the time Lost in Space was aired on British and American T.V. In Coronation Street Rita used to give Norris a hard time for less than what Doctor Smith had done. Norris Cole was nosey and just for that Norris got a lot more stick Doctor Smith gets from John Robinson. Maureen Robinson, Penny Robinson and Will Robinson and Judy Robinson in three weeks than Doctor Smith did in three years.

In Britain it is a case of everybody being after your money. People who come to you house to do a job expect to be paid for accepting their responsibility. P.R. example is a good one to follow.

25:00 Unfortunately, Marta Kristen just wasn't that good of an actress ..... From the very beginning, every scene that featured her was cringey like with her first one on one with Don when she's talking about back in her astronomy classes, she could just rattle those galaxies off and then Don asks her if she want's to go back home .... Now what I've noticed about bad actors and actresses is how they fail to interact with the other characters through eye contact but instead, stare off into space as she sigh's and utters "..... I never liked school." .... The same when she confronts Don in the Hungry Sea after Don say's "Oh like father like daughter." .... Instead of addressing Don, she look's more like she's addressing the mirror with her best angry look unlike Penny when she confronts her mother after her "Mr. Noodles" story where she look's her square in the face and say's "Oh mother ... That is the most ridiculous story that I've ever heard." ..... In The oasis, Judy has her moment again when she's telling Maurine how badly she feel's that she had yelled at Dr. Smith and that she misses him, once again looking away from instead of looking at her mother .... Even the Monster Plants episode featured Judy as a victim of circumstance over the role being destined for her character ...... I don't know the episode but the one in color where her and Don on trapped in a zoo and she stick's out her tongue with her thumbs in her ears was even embarrassing for me to watch at the age of 10 ...... All other episodes that featured her like the intergalactic beauty pageant and that guy who was posing as the devil were bombs.

I've always thought the same thing about her acting. Even as a child, I noticed how wooden she always appeared. She knew her lines but her delivery just wasn't as good as it could have been. Absolutely no genuine emotion although she was very pretty. Like others have said here, she was definitely used for eye candy. It's too bad because her acting really stood apart from the others' acting.

Mr. Irving at 1:51 you describe Doctor Smith as the most hated man in America, yet the producers have more of him in the Lost in Space episodes. Throughout the second season Lost in Space seemed to revolved around him. In Coronation Street they have a certain character in the show less for doing only about one third of what Doctor Smith has done. They have done it for a certain female just because some Coronation Street fans act like spiteful schoolchildren. I know it is nice to try to be perfect, but if a T.V. series had everybody in it who was on the goody-goody side the TV show or soap would be boring. It is plain to see that Irwin Allen did not pander to Lost in Space fans moans and groans. I call you Mr. Irving because don't know your real name.
