IDK if you will watch Episode 11 officially here, but if you don't - Corinthian's plan actually mirrors the plan of the cats in Episode 11. It's unfortunately not clear unless you watch Episode 11, but the idea is that if you bring 1000 people together to dream the same dream, it can rewrite the entire universe. And Corinthian was well on his way to 1000 serial killers.

Yeah; I've never worked in the hotel industry myself, but my mom and one of my sisters did, for a short while (because they weren't willing to put up with the B.S. that goes on there for too long), and, when I went to see my mom at work a couple of times, I remember the hotel manager (or owner, or maybe both; I never found out which) tell multiple employees, who were trying to explain or just talk to him about people doing F'd up things in their room, to just STFU and do their job, or get fired. So the poor employees usually can't do anything against patrons, even just telling on them to the manager, because they'd probably get fired. What I'm saying is, the employees are told to just do their jobs, and they're threatened with termination otherwise, so even if they do care and want to do something about things they see or overhear, a lot of them fear losing their job if they say anything about it.

Also notice, the thing Rose pulled out of herself and handed to Unity was a crystal heart. That's Desire's symbol. Morpheus used it to go visit Desire's palace.

yeah Gwen's great but she just doesn't fit as Lucifer. The one playing Desire would've probably done a better job imo. Gwen's playing Lucifer way too whiny and cautious. Comic Lucifer is well aware that he's basically unmatched in power, except for his twin Michael and their maker, the presence, so while he plays by the rules(or rather just plays along) and has his own honor code he definitely does NOT take shit. Not from the endless and definitely not from demons. They should've just gone with the one playing Desire and use basic camera tricks to make them seem large and imposing.

Someone else mentioned it in a more spoiler-y version, but yes, the Endless have rules that even they must follow. No spilling family blood is a big one. As to why it's so feared....maybe when we get to like season 4 or 5 you'll see. As for their numbers, there's actually seven Endless. They mentioned six by name in this episode, but they've spoken of The Prodigal, who, again, we'll meet if we get more seasons. You can also tell because each Endless keeps a "gallery" in their domain, 6 pictures, each containing a symbol of power of the siblings they represent. It's how Dream contacted Desire in this ep, and it's what Desire used to contact Despair earlier on. In everyone's gallery, the one they call the prodigal is presently represented by a blank frame, with no object.

I need to see how they do Delerium.

Yeah, that's gonna be really interesting, if they ever get around to her, because they need an actress who can play crazy, intimidating and scary, but yet sweet and tragic, and play all of those at the same time... They would need a powerhouse actress, to be sure, or else it could very well ruin the character. In my opinion, Christina Ricci could probably do it, judging by the her acting in Black Snake Moan, where her character had a lot of those qualities.

All they have to do is travel back to the past of an alternate reality in which Tori Amos became a very talented actress at a very young age, instead of a very talented musician, then bring her here, and give her the role. Piece of cake!

There's still one more episode of Sandman. It's a great one too. Hope you guys watch it.

I don't really think it's a spoiler to say that the Endless have certain rules... protocols which must be followed. One of those is that they may not spill family Blood. I won't go more into THAT, but yeah, Desire was trying to do something REALLY bad, not just Morally bad, but like... dangerously bad. Also, the family doesn't really have factions, it's just that Death, Dream, and Destiny are all relatively close while Despair and Desire are twins and therefore on each others' side. There's also the issue of Delirium, but she would probably not bother to take a side at all, so much so that while mentioned in the comics I don't think Dream even bothered to mention her here and it's not like she's not dangerous, she just wouldn't join the fight I don't think. But as I said, there aren't really factions. It's just a particularly nasty sibling rivalry that others get drawn into. Hoping for a season 2 as well, you guys are going to be so surprised by what Lucifer is planning if we get one.

No. The Endless does have 1 rule and it's to not spill family blood. Literally. If Endless kills one of their own, The Kindly Ones will bring forth their counterpart, The Erinyes/Furies to punish those who spilled family blood. Aka destroy the Endless and create a whole new Endless to carry forward their duty.

@@cummiestcat Yes I have read the comics thank you very much, but the Endless have other rules. Such as not being in relationships with mortals, this is seen best in the backstory we get for Nadia. Also, the Kindly Ones ARE the Erinyes/Furies, you mean the Fates and the Endless are the ones who "create" a new endless if we're going to use that language, not the Kindly Ones. So what part of what I said was incorrect? Because you've contradicted nothing.

Its less that Delirium wouldn't pick a side its more that she's so out of it, that unless manipulated she probably wouldn't get involved in any such fight especially against Death and Destiny, the two siblings she's keen on the most.

Its only implied in the show so far, and elaborated on in the comics, but spilling family blood makes you a kinslayer, which...is real bad in the Sandman universe.

I'm still shocked they went 1 to 1 accurate with Azazel's visuals.

As Death said in the comics, everyone gets the same thing: one lifetime.

Unity dreamt for decades. She essentially lived hundreds of years in a dream world due to the time dilation involved.

@@lordsathariel4384 it most certainly is because much like the comics the missing brother was never mentioned by name in the 1st two story arcs but it was referenced he was missing a couple of times. The name reveal was given later in a story, that's probably going to be in season 2. Dropping upcoming details is a spoiler.

@@lordsathariel4384 i didn't say he wasn't mentioned, I said he was. I said His name wasn't told on the show on purpose. The referred to him as the prodigal to build mystery of the character. The same with his missing sigil in the other Endless galleries. It will likely be told in season two. Revealing upcoming details does spoil things from first time watchers and readers. Much like when the comics were first there were a lot of debate and theory over the missing siblings name. I've seen other reactors form their own theories. But this is just giving them information the show was saving for later and deny them the reveal. It's not something they missed it's something they were not told by the show but by the comments. The same is true for another character that appears in the show. Fans get excited and get ahead of what has or hasn't been told. Why not let the new fans get there on their own?

Dream takes away the Collectors' delusion that they were always right, because his domain isn't just literal dreams that you have when you're asleep, he is also hope and imagination. This is first mentioned in the diner episode, when Dream explains that the "lies" John Dee took away were "dreams", the hope that "kept them alive", and is further elaborated upon in episode 11

Desire is they/them, can be anything (any form, any gender) as long as it's what you desire :) Also yes. Something HUGE happens when they spill family blood, but it's not yet revealed at this point in the story.

The endless have magical laws and one of them is to not kill one of their siblings, if they do that they will die instantly. And all siblings represent a concepts, but they represent the reverse aspect of the concept for example : Death is life at the same time, Dream is the immaterial and the material world so that’s why if he disapear the whole world will destroy itself, Desire is hate at the same time and Destiny represent uncalculated changes. That's not what happens if you draw family blood, also I don't think that the Endless represent the opposite of what they ARE it's just that they DEFINE their opposite. They are each the opposite of a "good" thing and therefore, without them, that thing wouldn't really be defined. Dream's existence defines reality, Death's defines life, Destiny defines freedom, Destruction defines creation, Delirium defines sanity, Despair defines delight (hilariously/curiously), and Desire defines contentedness. Or at leas that's my take of things.

@@MaxEllSibSwe Oh I don't mean that Desire and Despair are opposites of each other/define each other, but rather that they have a uniquely dualistic relationship. Hence why they are the only twins of the Endless, with Desire being the older twin, since to be able to despair one typically has to be able to desire first. The way I understand the Endless is that you can understand the order of their ages as sorta being like equivalent of "Maslow's hierarchy of needs" but for life/beings in general in terms of their primacy: Destiny allows for existence of things "to be"/being in the first place, something that can "be" can then live/die which leads to Death, something that can live and die can then dream/be sentient/think/conceive/etc leading to Dream, something that thinks can then create and destroy which leads to Destruction, if something can create and destroy then it can desire and despair leading to the twins, and then finally something that can desire and despair can then be joyful/understand/be sane/go insane which leads to Delight/Delirium.

I think you missed the part where unity said she had a whole life while in the dreaming and her child in dreaming got actually born in the physical world so yeah you are right

I absolutely love that the way Morpheus deals with all the serial killers is he makes them feel overwhelming guilt. It’s such a perfect way to truly break psychopaths who by nature have never felt true guilt or remorse for their wrongdoings. I still feel sick at the fact that Desire sexually assaulted a young girl to get her pregnant and have descendants just to try and trick Dream into killing his great great grandniece because he thought there was no other way to deal with the vortex. It shows just how pathetic Desire is, especially when asked by Dream if they thought they actually had a chance in a real fight against Dream, Death or Destiny, and like a small and scared child they whimpered “no”. I do love however that not only did Morpheus show Galt mercy and made her into a dream but also allowed Lucienne to run The Dreaming whenever he is indisposed. And that instead of dismissing everything that had to do with Morpheus and The Dreaming as “just a dream” she knows everything that happened was real. True neither of those things are in the issues that this season covers, but Neil Gaiman is one of the show runners and made this change, which I much prefer. Overall this is still one of the best seasons of tv I have ever seen in my life!

Hmmm, I'm very eager to episode 11. And yes, spilling family blood is a big deal in Sandman Universe.

The three youngest siblings Desire, Despair, Delirium (beside Delirium) dislike Dream, as they believe he is too arrogant and considers himself better than them. Desire often manipulates the others, teasing them and trying to anger them like he did with Sandman.

Corinthian is a master smooth talker. Jed is impressionable and Rose doesn't have as much life experience. He's manipulating them in a big way. And if there's one thing I've learned about hotel conventions, they don't get paid enough to listen in. As far as the punishment Dream gave the collectors, we have to remember that he is both the Dreaming and reality, as well as the notion that every thought ever came through Dream's realm first. He took away their shared dream and poured into their heads the reality of their actions and what that did to people. This is the true fury of Morpheus. And yeah, he did mean until the end of time, not just when they died.

It’s not so much factions of Siblings at war. It’s more so that each of the Endless has their own domains and deals they tend to. Destiny, Death, and Dream are among the eldest of the siblings and so they understand their functions and such much more. However the younger Endless, Desire, Despair and Delirium, do not have that. They’re more like those annoying younger siblings you might have, constantly poking and angering you. It’s like that but at a cosmic scale. That said, Dream and Desire have much more animosity between each other for a series of reasons that the material goes into more so there’s that. Also there is one last episode, so be sure to watch that if you can!

fiddler's green was an afterlife for sailors - good music, good vibes, dancing ya don't get tired of. as gods come from the dreaming and return to the dreaming upon death, any belief system is under dream, so any afterlife must be as well. for the scale of it, think of it like valhalla dipping out lol. but yeah, anyone killing an Endless will have consequences, even moreso if it's within the family. so desire wants to trick dream into doing that too. glad y'all liked it! the rest of the stories are a trip, hopefully more seasons can happen!

Fiddler’s Green was, if I remember correctly, the sailor’s dream of peaceful land. Like their idea of a perfect resting place.

It was an orderly in the comics, and they don't really make it too PC in the show. It's still implied to be the same. She said she had a baby while she was unconscious. And Desire didn't exactly give Unity the information necessary for informed consent (or frankly any form of consent).

The Endless is just like the average siblings in a family just with godlike powers. (Don't know if telling who's who in The Endless is a spoiler but i'll just put a warning just in case) *Spoilers* . . . . . . . . . . . . . The three eldest siblings are doing their jobs and responsibilities, while the three youngest are rebelling and doing mischievous things. Then there's the prodigal who was just maybe had enough of his role as an Endless.

I know this was 11 months ago, but I'm just now binging your stuff. For what it's worth, I don't think it's two factions of the Endless. What it is, is the oldest, (Destiny, Death and Dream) and the Youngest (Desire, Despair and Delerium). Dream is living that middle child syndrome getting ganked by his younger siblings. Which in the 4th wall breaking context makes sense, as misplaced desire, despair or delerium can really screw with your hopes and dreams.

Imma be honest, imo Dreams confrontation with Corinthian was better in the comics.

I agree, many many many things were far better in the graphic novels but I still think they did an outstanding job, considering that I was always 100% certain that The Sandman series was totally & utterly unadaptable. It wasn't exactly the same, but it was still good (better than Good Omens & American Gods, IMHO), & since it's my favorite literary series of all-time, I'll that that.

@@ShadowyFox_86 again, it's mostly my opinion, but it's the fact that Dream had no issue whatsoever destroying Corinthian. Unlike the show, comic Dream gets stabbed through the hand and has no reaction whatsoever. It maintained his image as a completely incomprehensible power, something that couldnt be damaged by anything of his creation.

The order is Destiny>Death>Dream>Destruction>Desire>Despair>and Delirium/Delight is the baby sister. Only Desire and somewhat Despair have something against Dream.

if they spill family blood, they actually (I think) either get depowerd OR just straight up die. they did not show delirium, destiny, and distruction (which....well...if there is a season 2, he may make an apperance)

He stopped the serial killers by taking away their dreams. They fantasized about killing and murdering people and felt justified about their actions in their dreams. He took all that dreaming and fantasizing away, so they just had their actions left with no twisted fantasy attached toward them.

It's worse than just taking away their dreams. Remember, the Endless represent both their namesake and their opposite. Dream took away their delusional dreams and poured the reality of what their victims' loved ones felt into their heads. He cursed them with a punishment that extends until the end of time. This is what Dream meant when he said he was far more terrible than Death.

Guys I recommend watching Blue Lock! It's coming on October 8 and I'm pretty sure ya'll will love it

Yeah fun fact the TV show Lucifer is technically based off these comics (like.... very loosely). Very excited to see what they do in this show :)
