Lost Generation Poem (with people)

Ойын-сауық

This is based on a video called "Lost Generation" that was a video created for the AARP U@50 video contest and placed second. It was a text based video with narration. It was made by Jonathan Reed. The senior class at Robert M. Beren Academy wanted to film this video reading the poem and this is what we got. It was filmed and edited by Dr. Eliezer Jones. Enjoy.

This is great. The freshman watched this on a rotation on the first day of school. Which was yesterday. And my Biology class watched it today.

The reverse thing blew my mind. Epic writing skill. I wish this can go into every thick skull of this generation.

" ..This is far out the most inspirational text message i know since I'm on KZread..!" ..makes clear you have to look and listen from and towards both sides of a story, from beginning to ending before you judges.... simply brilliant and beautiful done!

Adults don't all think like that.... In fact, most of the adults I know are trying hard to make sure the world is a better place for their children to live in. Most of the young people I know need to wake up and realise that they way they think is just as destructive as the way "adults" do at times. Let's not lay blame but rather, seek to be the answer.

A lot of mainstream people do agree with this poem. Young peolple, and adults. A lot of young people have seen this poem at school. When it was used during class, the teacher chose to show this poem. And he or she is an adult... If he didn't make the choise, you wouldn't have seen it....

LOST GENERATION I'm a part of Lost Generation and I refuse to believe that I can change the world I realize this may be a shock but "Happiness comes from within" is a lie, and "Money will make me happy" So in thirty years I'll tell my children They are not the most important thing in my life My employer will know that I have my priority straight because Work Is more important than Family I tell you this Once upon a time Families stay together But this will not be true in my era This is a quick fix society Experts tell me Thirty years from now I will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of my divorce I do not concede that I will live in a country of my own making In the future Environmental destruction will be the norm No longer can it be said that My peers and I care about this earth It will be evident that My generation is apathetic and lethargic It is foolish to presume that There is hope And all of this will come true unless we reverse it.

@cindysa210 It's not stupid adults that think this. It's a societal change that needs to occur. Empower your generation. Change the world. No matter what age, it's not too late to make positive reform. Keep that can do attitude, kiddo, and you'll make a difference!

@cindysa210 For your sake and ours,I hope you don't.I see so many children being raised by idiots that I really fear for you guys. If there's one peice of advice I have to give to your generation to become better people than past generations it's this:Don't let politics, greed or the fights between religion/athiesm stand in the way of what is right. Bind yourselves with bro/sisterhood.Love eachother as you love yourself. If you need answers, look right in front of you, instead of mocking the sky.

@scozta what does obama have to do with this poem? seriously that is like out of left field... america needs to understand that the world is changing and has changed... country lines are getting blurred... the lines between government and corporation are getting blurred... and the internet has allowed ideas to travel like never before... similar to the press in the 1700s.... this is the start of Generation Y, This is the beginning of the millenials... we think differently than our elders do
