Thank you so much. I got this car with the Lucas Oil body and I took it out today after work and siding realize the 3s battery wasn’t going to fit. Now, thanks to you, I know the fix. Much appreciated!!!

Nice. Neat. I have me a vintage Brian Kinwald Losi Buggy. Cherry shape. Had it sealed up. Been running it. You got me going with my cars this week. Hey I need a new Nitro engine. An HPI 15107. Or I could tolerate a 15101. The 15107 is preferred. Both are hard to find. For my HPI RS4 RTR EVO 3 The engine for the EVO 3+ will do. I have other engines but do not want to do all of the mods it would need.

Charles I can definitely understand that one when I look at some of my older RC it feels like it's so much easier to just buy new because everything new can seemingly handle the power and have better frequency range than what we had back in the day

@@rcguygarage Definitely like the new radio systems. I remember one of your recent videos you were talking about the old huge controllers. The circuits were big. I hear you. I have been tempted to order a new RTR. These days they come totally tricked out and no upgrades are needed. Remember brass ring wheel bearings?

Having owned one since November 2019, I STILL never ran it on 3s. Lol. This size RC I still feel is quite adequate on 2s.

Shouldnt you put in the smaller pinion too? To avoid heat issues on 3s?

Out of the box as is to get a baseline then l mod from there unless initial setup is off. Absolutely no overheat issues between motor or ESC as of yet and I ripped it hard the other day. kzread.info/dash/bejne/h4mEqpOLmsS0hco.html

This video is very helpful - planning on purchasing this Losi. I'm new to this stuff, and I'm curious - if you do switch to the 15 tooth pinion, would there be any harm to the system running with 2s batteries? I know you haven't switched, also read their caution regarding overheating running with 3s and 17 tooth pinion, but I wondered, if I switched to 15 tooth pinion to run 3s, can I still use 2s as well, and what is the downside? Thanks!

I've NEVER changed out the pinion and if you've seen my videos you're getting the cutdown version of its actual usage. I myself have had no ill effects. I don't run this DB on 2s cause it as well as I love how it reacts overall on 3! Funny you commented right now cause I was just viewing past footage to purge and delete and realized how BADLY i beat this thing and it's just AWESOME 😜😂😝🤣👍💯👊 the only downside of 2s in my opinion is loss of crazy speed. However you might be better off on 2s to just realize it's capability but you'll probably switch fairly fast to 3!

@@rcguygarage Okay, yeah, thanks for the edit/update. Like I said, I'm a newbie, so that's what I was looking for - a little loss of speed. I'm not up to driving them full speed anyway yet, but I'm sure I will be one day. The 2s batteries are a bit cheaper, so I'll probably swap the pinion, do the battery post upgrade you showed here, and buy one each of a Spectrum 2s and 3s 5000 mAh. Thanks, this looks like a great car and great fun!

Get asked that all the time😂🤣 they are called Vector by Anki they have lots of tech built in however sadly the company has closed. You can still buy them just know there's no longer any company support.

Have you changed the pinion to the 15 tooth with the battery post spacers? I heard that your supposed to change to the included 15 from the 17 tooth pinion when changing to 3S.

@@slyknezz6862 with all the running I've been doing on this dirt track Corvette it is absolutely showing zero signs of any issue!!! Then again maybe I'm just lucky😜🤣😝😂

I just ordered one, does that battery kit for the 3S come with the kit or do I have to buy it separate?

Don't forget to change out the pinion gear also or else it will overheat?

Little do you know this thing absolutely loves that gearing and 3S You've got to check out all the videos I've done on this car It is 100% point blank my most favorite 10th scale open wheel buggy

Swapped over but left it over geared :/
