    Dude the DBpro is SO FUN. I just had to redo all the electronics in mine after a wet run… stock esc wasn’t very waterproof and the motor didn’t like the new sensored esc! (Even though it says it works with sensorless motors) anywho, amazing car, so agressive and so fun to drive especially with a max10 140a sensored combo

    Doing this exact upgrade this afternoon. Using a Reefs raw 500 + servo horn on a lasernut. Thanks for the tip on the grub screws too!

    Funny you just posted this… I literally just installed the exotek and a new servo today before it’s maiden voyage. I didn’t know about the grub screws backing out but will def tackle those tonight.

    Great info! I’m going to be up grading my dB pro as well with the exotek kit and a beefier servo. What model TLR Servo horn is that?

    Just purchased the Exotek and am looking into servos. Read some reviews on that 1211 and it looks like a pretty good option. Was curious to your experience with it or if you had any recommendations. Thanks

    It’s been great so far. More torque than my 1258tg, and it’s more than enough for this car. Being waterproof is a definite plus, too. It has been holding up to my 5 year old’s driving, so that should say a lot!

    Thanks for sharing this, just bought the buggy yesterday. When you upgraded the steering to Exotek bearing, can you still use the stock servo saver or is it eliminated?

    It replaces the stock servo saver. You reuse the stock spring.

    How do you compress the servo saver spring to get the nut started on the Exotek steering? Thanks

    I don’t remember having to use any tools, just did it by hand if I remember correctly. You having issues with it? On a side note, make sure you use thread lock on the center link screws and let it cure for 24 hours, or those screws will constantly loosen up and end up tearing up those tiny little bearings. That’s really my only complaint with the setup. My 5 year old has abused it hard and it won’t break!

    did you swap the pinion on the motor like the manual says? to avoid motor overheating on 3S power?

    I run 15t on this one because it gets used in grass a lot. With a motor fan you could go up a few teeth, but it’s still a good idea to get an infrared thermometer to keep an eye on temps. They’re cheap on Amazon!

    I was pretty disappointed with the car when I first drove it, so I went straight to the highest setting. Yes, it made the car have the torque I expected it to have!

    Would you say it's actually worth it to install the upgraded steering rack?

  • @misterts7635

    @misterts7635

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hard to say. I’m sure that it’s stronger than the stock parts and the shiny aluminum sure looks nice, but you’ll tighten up the steering just as much by installing ball bearings in the stock bell cranks and switching to a TLR ball bearing drag link link. Definitely less flex in the aluminum bell crank, but I’m not convinced it makes a huge difference.

    @@misterts7635 do you think it could cause other arms and bits to break when bashing since the metal has no flex?

    Binding the radio and receiver are done using the buttons on the radio and receiver, not the speed controller. If you did somehow manage to unpair them, it’s very easy to bind them again. Just hold the bind button on the receiver until it starts flashing, then do the same on the radio. When the receiver light stays solid, it’s bound.
