Losi Mini B 7800kv Brushless Upgrade!

How to upgrade your Mini B to a Hobbywing brushless system and Spektrum receiver.

Spektrum 2 channel receiver- www.amainhobbies.com/spektrum...
I wouldn’t recommend using the servo that I installed in this video. After driving with the stock servo and the eco power on the track, the difference was not noticeable.

It's so cool when it all comes full circle and you find yourself once again buying RC cars, legos, Hot Wheels, and building mini bikes and go karts. Your childhood comes back, but this time you get to experience the magic of it with a little version of yourself. Being a dad is the best. Good luck with your builds, and brace yourself... it gets expensive fast!

I haven’t yet. Waiting for my local track to switch back to an off road layout! Have you changed anything up yet?

Idk if you are still active but would love some more videos on upgrades bc I just bought the Losi Lazernut and it’s a new world for me but so far I already wanna upgrade steering and axels anything else you recommend?

Still active, just haven’t had much time to work on the RC fleet lately. Congrats on the Lasernut purchase. I want one myself! Other than switching out some of the plastic steering parts for aluminum stuff, I haven’t had to do much else to mine. I would definitely put in a better servo. My next upgrade parts will be tekno outdrives.

Thanks for the video I debate between this and the Dynamite setup. Were you able to run 3s on the Hobbywing? The instant break setup on Hobbywing would drive me nuts on the track. Were you able to fix that with the program card. I would think this is faster than the Dynamite setup?

I’m planning on putting the dynamite setup in my kid’s car just to compare the two. With the higher kv I definitely expect the Hobbywing setup to be faster, but the dynamite has a bigger can size so I’m sure it’ll have the edge with torque. I’ve put in a 3s to do a speed run down the street and it wasn’t even usable power. The car is too light and just wanted to go airborne. I didn’t run it long enough to get an idea of how the temps would be on the track. Probably way too hot. I haven’t had an issue with the drag brake- I do not remember if I played with the settings or not. Keep me updated on what you do!

@@misterts7635 Thanks glad to hear you didn't have a drag break issue. I've seen lots of videos where people had drag break problems with the Hobbywing but maybe they didn't set it up right seems to come with programming card. I'm mostly just tooling around at home with a street pylon course but I would like to take it to my local 1/10th scale clay track as well occassionally. The 7800kv with 3s is unusable power unless just drag racing. The dynamite is probably best for the track as torque usable power. I already have a couple 2s batteries now. Otherwise the Hobbywing 5200kv with a 3s is probably as fast as want to go which is maybe slightly faster and more torque than a 7800kv. With 3s 7800kv probably have to upgrade to the 16bl30 esc anyways be scared fry the motor with the 18amp Ezrun esc.

I didn’t try to bind the stock controller to the spektrum receiver I put in, but I doubt it would work. They’re usually brand specific.

They do make a separate receiver for the stock transmitter. I actually really like those transmitters.
