Thought i'd ad my findings on the SH.18 backing plate on the .19t. I came to find after a good amount of fuel that the sh.18 backing plate must be slightly shorter than stock, which aloud the connecting rod to walk slightly while running enough to contact the groove in engine block the rod rides in. I solved this issue by adding 2 shims behind the internal OWB. Now if the rod was to walk slightly over itll be stopped by the OWB rather than "self machining" the block for clearance. Next teardown of my .19t ill make a more detailed post on the issue on your group page to paint a clearer picture

A hpi engine comparison would be a great video between the 3.5-4.1- 4.6 and what's the same or differents in parts and what Force model that are compatible. It definitely surprise so people. Great video the facts not fiction 🛠️💯👍✌️🍻

@@thebug4046 maybe if shipping doesn't coast to much I'll lend you each model IV have to pull the 3.5 out of my 21. I also have each size in what I think the first version /style block the 3.5 4.1 and 4.6 are identical from the outside of the block but the actual internal parts and bore are different .I like to call them sleepers because no one would be able to tell the difference between the v1 from the outside. The V2 block you can tell the difference from the outside of the blocks and the marking stamped on them most people don't know this in less the have every version in all the sizes for each gen Wich I think perty interesting 🤯👍💯✌️🛠️🤔

Have you seen the aftermarket TRX 3.3 crank from RCRenew? They CNC out a stock crank, finished product looks like a nice race engine crank instead of the plain circular crank that looks like it came from a plane engine.

Yeah I've seen a few of them it doesn't look bad but a little bit overpriced for what was really done to it I think but would be interesting to see how they perform

First here 😆! I have heard and seen someone took a 2.5 with a worn-out pinch and put a .18 piston in it to tighten it up and made insane power! Idk if that was true or bs and I wonder also. If u can get the wrist pin stuff to work (and traxxas's love for cheap aluminum and using cast) will a losi 3.4 piston fit in a 3.3 with a loose/worn pinch? I do have a spare new Davis Diesel con rod laying around

Yeah I have heard about this alleged 18 piston fitting the 2.5 I've yet to see that or see any kind of proof about it until then I call BS. However I completely forgot to mention that the 19 and 3.4 pistons are both machined not cast so they are a better piston all the way around. If the stroke is different between all 3 same with all the pin bores so unfortunately nothing is Interchangeable unfortunately

So a 3.4 will accept a traxxas pullstart/ezstart as long as you use a ground down traxxas backplate for piston skirt clearance?

@@thebug4046 Man you're a genius. I'll be on the lookout for 3.4's that need a starter. I never would consider them if the starting system was broke because I figured an engine is no good if you can't start it. Kinda like my Novarossi 2.5. it's still brand new and I'm scared to even run it since the roto start is weak and impossible to find parts.
