We can clearly see the owl is totally relaxed and not feeling stressed at all because it’s standing on one leg. They were certainly a bit surprised by the feather pull, but they seemed to figure it out and become chill again, even playful about it.

They literally are... Owls are the only birds that don't even make a single sound when flying... Their feathers don't even ruffle in the wind... An owl can literally fly right by ur ear and all u will feel is a tiny whisk of air... Also, they don't like being looked in the eye... So if u see one owl, and wanna keep enjoying their unique head dances, just don't look them in the eye, and they will comfortably keep watching around... Also, owls are quite curious, but very very very shy... They want to know everything... Just don't wanna be caught trying to know everything...😅😂 I know all this as in my grandparents home, there were a ton of Owls and Bats... The bats clung to the outer windows curtains (we need extra curtains on the outside as well to keep the intense sunlight away and the window glass cool) and the owls resided in the many tree trunks in our huge backyard... U would sometimes catch one owl messing with the antennae wires, or gardening equipment or anything new to them... But as soon as they know ur watching, they would quietly flutter sideways as if they were just looking for a nice worm there and nothing more... But u just turn ur back, and there they are again messing with the new hedge pruners..😂

@@hallucinat0ryOh! Owls actually have really long legs, and a lot of what you think is skin is actually their feathers! Owls are tiny underneath, you can look up owls with long legs and you’ll see what I mean

Animals do not communicate the way humans do; for us, the best way to communicate with animals is by understanding their forms of Body Language. However, one trait that is very, very common with animals that humans have come to commonly domesticate is the Slow Blink. This shows you as a human that the animal holds complete and total trust in you. You are it’s master or it’s companion, and they are so comfortable around you that they are willing to close their eyes and expose themselves to all forms of danger. To close one’s eyes for too long in the Wild is to stare Death right in the eyes, so an animal closing their eyes and becoming droopy/drowsy/snuggly means they trust their very Life and Soul to be held and protected by the hand you pet them with.

​@Mokes888 Of course they do. Birds, including owls, preen each other to show affection. Petting may not be the exact same thing, but it's similar enough that they can recognise it and relate it to preening. The same way humans can understand it when an animal licks us to show affection, even though that isn't something we do at all.

And the body language thing is so true I communicate with my dog the same as I would other people just through her gestures. Like when she wants me to drop food she looks at the ground lol
