Los Angeles VS Miami | Living, Differences, And Key Things To Think About

Are you thinking about moving to Los Angeles, California or Miami, Florida? There are many differences between the two cities, so I hope you learn something new from this video. I grew up in a small town just outside of Los Angeles, and I currently live in Los Angeles now. I grew up visiting family in South Florida as a kid, and my girlfriend was raised in Miami, so we find ourselves going to South Florida so often, we basically call Miami our second home. I now help my California clients move to Florida and invest there as well. I love both cities in their own unique ways.
If you are thinking about moving to Los Angeles, CA, Southern California in general, or Florida, we would love to help you make a smooth move. Call/Text/Email me today, even if you are planning to move next year.

There’s one important difference between Los Angeles and Miami I believe is important in deciding which one to move to: politics. -LA is strongly progressive with its laws and ideology heavily reflecting the beliefs of Democrats, like strict gun laws, socially liberal activism, and economic policies based on equality and government interference. -Miami on the other hand is the opposite, being libertarian/conservative and even voting for Republicans in 2022 for the first time in decades. They’re laws and ideology reflect the GOP more, with its pro-gun laws, socially conservative values, and free market economics. Besides that, awesome video!

Visited both. Miami feels more like a city. Skyscrapers, people out walking, exciting, fast paced. Los Angeles feels like a suburb with different pockets for different folks. LA is more diverse than Miami. There’s a strong black, white, Asian, and Latin presence. Miami was predominantly Latin. I’m not a party girl so I had a hard time finding things to do in Miami. The beaches were nice but not my vibe. I do love shopping so that was a plus. I didn’t get to shop in LA but I hear it’s amazing too. Both cities were friendly. I’m not the chitchat type but if I asked for directions/advice people in both cities helped. Something tells me I’d have a harder time making friends in Miami. LA has the stronger economy. The tech scene is booming so that’s a plus for me. Miami is mostly service but I know their business scene is nothing to scoff at. traffic was brutal in both places. Miami is slightly more affordable. I prefer Miami’s tropical scenic greenery to LAs dry dust, but LA would be more liveable for me.

Peruvian food is the bomb in Miami. Venezuelan, Colombian and Brazilian food is also abundant and delicious. In addition to Cuban (which is my favorite comfort food), the variations of Caribbean cuisines are also amazing. Contrary to a lot of perceptions, Miami doesn't have a large Mexican community and good Mexican food is difficult to find. The same is true for the Asian communities. They too are quite small.

I’m a Miami native and he talked about “bluntness”. He spoke about his girlfriend working a customer service job in LA. Noooo Bueno! People should be real careful when hiring someone from Miami in a customer facing situation. A lot of people here are not customer forward. They should NOT be the frontline of your customer’s experience. Especially certain cultures from Miami. There will be several, if not a lot of customer complaints about how Miamians deal with customer issues. I have walked out of plenty stores or businesses in Miami because the attendant is clueless of what customer service looks like. The west coast, hands down, has better customer service practices than the East coast period. I am a Miami native and proud of it. I love love love Miami. I just know our flaws. Customer service is a huge one. Be prepared. And yes, a lot of stores EXPECT you to be fluent in Spanish. Some clerks will treat you unkindly if you do not speak Spanish. Just FYI

@@warrickroundtree5752 I think both are fine, but there is a tendency to be overweight in LA a bit more than Miami. However, for those that keep themselves in reasonable weight, LA wins for me. The abundance of Mexicans, Asians, Salvadorans and Middle Eastern people in LA can't be beat. Miami has mostly Hispanic Caribbean, South American, Haitian and Anglo-Caribbean peoples. Personally, I'm not really into Haitians, Jamaicans or Hispanic Caribbeans that much, just the excessive flashiness that many demonstrate comes off as very tacky to me. But that's just me.

I've lived in both cities 😁they are similar in some ways however Miami is a Clear Winner🏆Traffic is bad in both cities, however public transportation and city distance is easier to cover in MIA as LA is obnoxiously distant. You can get away with no car in MIA in LA its next to impossible for most. California taxes and policies are leading wealthy people and company HQ out of state and if you aren't impacted now you will be in the coming years. 📈as an LA native I have first hand seen crime and homelessness progressively getting worse year after year. There are homeless encampments across the street from SLS hotel in beverly hills, no this is not hyperbole its just common. 🌮 LA is inundated with people chasing the entertainment career and as a result thats why LA is called "fake" a lot of smoke and mirror personalities. East coast personalities are more harsh and transparent they either like you or they dont and they wont care. 🔴 If you like to pay high taxes, increased crime, and fake personalities LA is built for you.

I like Miami but the people don't know how to drive, and the infrastructure is not so good either. L.A has more traffic and its huge. Miami is different, amusing, and fun. In L.A there's always more things to do and is more fun as a whole, anything your looking for you'll find in L.A. I also noticed living in Miami that the people there are very stressed out, they have meltdowns for the smallest things. On the other hand, L.A. is an illusion most people in L.A are laid back and polite but the bad people out there are definitely more dangerous, you have to know the areas very well in that city. I lived in both cities over the years and I love both cities but I'll have to go with The city of Angels there's just no comparison.

I spent the first 20 years of my life in Michigan. Wanted to move to LA for a few years now, but recently took a trip to Miami over spring break & the city has a charm. The people are younger, hotter, there’s more year-round warmth, the Caribbean’esk culture is more inviting, but LA still gives off more of a “home vibe.” Miami is like Dubai, smaller and with less to do. It’s like maxed out it’s vacation skill points but that’s about it. In Miami you can tan on the beach, eat at nice restaurants, party on a yacht & go to a club, but that’s about it. I can technically do all of those things in LA, but also have access to suburban neighborhoods & schools to raise a family. I’d prob live in LA & vacation in Miami.

I live in Orlando now and i have family all over the state especially south Florida and my opinion is TAMPA is the best city in Florida. It has better beaches, not as rude and crowded, not as dangers, if you like strip clubs there's more and they're better, it has its own identity, its closer to other cities like St. Pete and Orlando, and the tech sector is growing. Also has 3 major sports teams and bush gardens. People from south Florida are moving up to central Florida because the cost of living is better. So if you are thinking about moving to Florida central Florida, especially Tampa, is more "Florida" than south Florida. South Florida is like NYC attitude wise.

Nice video. You touched on diversity of the Hispanic culture, but I wish you would've touched on more Caribbean diversity in Miami such as the Jamaican and Haitian culture. You mentioned Little Havana, but not Little Haiti. Didn't touch on the BOMB Jamaican food either...and Publix is aighttt better than Safeway for sure though! Lived in Miami for most of my life.
