Los Angeles’ Clean Streets Operations - Homeless Encampments Pt. 2

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

As I said in my last video of one of these cleanups, the homeless epidemic is getting larger and larger. This video was taken across from the park near my house, I've even had my own encounters with transients here. On October 1st, the city launched the "CARE" and "CARE+" teams (Cleaning and Rapid Engagement) in response to the citizens who believe in services for the homeless and not cleanups. While it is thoughtful, these sweeps are needed so skid row doesn't become the whole city. The CARE team reaches out to the homeless by getting them connected to services such as affordable housing or shelters. The whole operation is led by compassion, and it's pretty great. Although the whole program is out and working, the homeless epidemic seems worse than before, and it's still growing.
Like I said earlier, this one was filmed just down the street from me. This encampment gets cleaned up at least every month, and it's one of the largest homeless encampments in Koreatown. Here's and article the LA Times did on it last year in June, it goes further in depth to my point. www.latimes.com/local/lanow/l...
On a side note, please excuse my gloves getting in most of the shots. It was sunny as heck and I couldn't see much.
Anyways enjoy the video!
Don't forget to like, comment, share, and subscribe!
Thank you to the crews!
Dear LABOS: My videos are not to get drivers in trouble, if there is any questions, please comment down below, or email me at mr.kanyisa@gmail.com. My videos and all previous and future videos are for entertainment and entertainment only.
Have a great day :)

Nice New Way RL, but it makes me sad and angry honestly because this is an issue L.A City has let out of control. It's not just Koreatown, it is also in my turf here in Toluca Lake. On Lankershim Blvd beneath the 134 overpass it is impossible to walk along the sidewalks anymore due to the large tent metropolis. Then there is the putrid smell of soiled linens combined with weed and feces that makes it unbearable. I have seen the city deploy a few McNeilus front loaders every Tuesday but after they finish we are back to square one. At the same time many high rise overpriced apartments pop up left and right, and this disgusts me. My neighborhood Firehouse Subs is located in the bottom of a luxury apartment building right smack in a nice area. This is part of a row where there are 25 plus luxury apartments which still have vacancies since their opening three years ago. But then walk four minutes south on Lankershim and you'll be in a completely different place where tents are the norm. L.A instead of helping relieve what is a humanitarian crisis is opting to increase their profitability. Why not invest in subsidized housing for everyone instead of construction of overpriced housing which almost always remain vacant to the high costs. Now that I look at it, I can see why people oppose cleanups but at the same time this is a health hazard especially with the Coronavirus issue. The problem isn't here with LABOS, CARE, or the homeless people, it is with the corrupt profit thirsty politicians.

Stuart Alvarez Every politician cares about the Homeless epidemic until they get to office. Then the concern is literally getting your vote. The problem with LA is they will try to raise taxes in order for subsidized housing, even though they don’t need to because California as a whole has an excess 21 Billion dollars that literally just sits looking pretty. Government is not efficient at all.

Props to these workers for cleaning up everything. Cause they never know what they are getting into. Without a doubt very dangerous, great video.

If LA does cleanups in skid row, there gonna need all the encampment trucks for cleanup.

Nice video! But man, homelessness has increased so much. Every where you go, you see homeless on every corner. And the worst part is when they create so much trash that makes America look horrible. These cleanups really help and make the city look better.

I applaud these men and women for what they do, but also feel bad since they have to keep cleaning up. Not just for the homeless, but for people in general who don't take the responsibility to properly throw away their trash. Hopefully all these ridiculous tax laws, enviornmental policies, housing bylaws will be fixed and eradicated so that people will not end up homeless and business will succeed, not fail.

Good to know the people are getting the help they need and the city of la can be cleaner. The collectors are brave for just grabbing the stuff. I'm supprised they are not using a front end loader with a tink claw. Awesome video.

Neat video! It's always a treat seeing a RL LABOS video. I can't believe they bare hand that all though! Fresno has a crew like this but they always have a CAT following them around so they don't have to worry about touching anything
