Los Alacranes Linda Chicana
Los Alacranes has been around ever since I can remember. Ramon "Chunky" Sanchez and Ricardo Sanchez are the founders of the group. They began their music making in the small town of Blythe California. There in the fields they began learning the traditional Mexican folk songs.
Their musical talent carried the two to San Diego where they decided to expand their music horizons by colaberating with Falco Jimenez (Texas Tornados) and members of Los Lobos.
They then started incorporating instruments to create their own unique style of music. Los Alacranes is known all over the world for their historical music. Loved and adored, they have truly touched the lives of so many people. I for one can say I am a huge fan of Los Alacranes they go way beyond Chicano Park. You must check out there other tunes like Mexiano Americano, Pocho, Maria Chuchena, Bandolero, Linda Chicana and my favorite Chorizo Sandwich one of the funniest tunes you'll ever here. There's fun song for everyone so hope you enjoy their music as much as I do.

Nueva Chicana is my sweet Granddaughter Natalie Constancio, she was three years old at that time today she is completing her Masters Degree in Science, they are the Original Linda Chicana and Nueva Chicana. My name is Samuel Constancio, It has been a Honor and Privilege too be a lifelong Brother and friend of The Late Ramon "Chunky" Sanchez R.I.P. I met him in 1974 at S.D.S.U. and remained close to him until his passing, I was Blessed to lead his Procession too his grave. In November 1999 my beloved Mother Phyllis Constancio R.I.P Mom, passed away and Chunky accompanied me to her funeral in Stockton Ca. To lay her too rest, on the flight home he and I decided to record a song in her memory as he knew my Mom through not only myself but my Big Brother Jesse Constancio who was his neighbor and best friend and partner of 40 years, we recorded Linda Chicana the original version early 2000 along with Chunky's band Los Alacranes and all star musicians I had helped out over the years, two years later that original recording was added to the Los Alacranes album "In Good Company" . It has been a true Blessing too see Linda Chicana grow into the great Chicana/o classic it is, endeared to our community as it is rare to have a song about our Mom's and Women Nation, we need love songs but there are plenty of those, how many songs are there about our Mother's? Thank You for your kind words in support of this great Chicano Musician, Grassroots Activist, Teacher, Mentor and Beloved Father, Son, Brother and Friend.
