Los Alacranes Chicano Park
Los Alacranes has been around ever since I can remember. Ramon "Chunky" Sanchez and Ricardo Sanchez are the founders of the group. They began their music making in the small town of Blythe California. There in the fields they began learning the traditional Mexican folk songs.
Their musical talent carried the two to San Diego where they decided to expand their music horizons by colaberating with Falco Jimenez (Texas Tornados) and members of Los Lobos.
They then started incorporating instruments to create their own unique style of music. Los Alacranes is known all over the world for their historical music. Loved and adored, they have truly touched the lives of so many people. I for one can say I am a huge fan of Los Alacranes they go way beyond Chicano Park. You must check out there other tunes like Mexiano Americano, Pocho, Maria Chuchena, Bandolero, Linda Chicana and my favorite Chorizo Sandwich one of the funniest tunes you'll ever here. There's fun song for everyone so hope you enjoy their music as much as I do.
Special Shout out to Los Alacranes keep up the tradition of merry music making. I am a huge fan of yours and want to thank you for sharing your wondrous musical talent with the world.
This is one of the songs off of the two Los Alacranes Albums that I own that I wanted to share with you. I hope one day I can get a hold of there record.
To get the full experience of the wondrous music of Los Alacranes please visit Xavier The X Man's website and go to his shop and pick up a copy of one of their albums today at

Chicano park is a park that represents our coulture weather north or south CALIFORNIA holds our chicano roots together. One as all and all as one. In order to receive the respect we deserve as part of this nation we must put our difference's aside in including our past. In these difficult times 2021 I'm not just calling out to one race, I'm talking to the poor...rich...all races... women...men...teenager... bloods...crips...north...or south#1...(oh) yes I put a number1 next to the south lol I hope I don't get judged. Anyways back to reality my name is Miguel A. Navarro I've been given the" impossible" so they say...It's up to all of us to fight together as Americans "STOP" and think what could we do not just to better ourselves but to make this world a beautiful place. God bless the world 🌍 🙏,
We are the old people now I remember 1970 during the Chicano movement We were there !❤
This song gives me pride and hope, I’m a young Chicano born and raised in San Diego and everytime I hear this song it reminds me how strong mi raza is and what we have been threw and accomplished, Que Viva La Raza!💪🏾💯🇲🇽

We need to teach our children and grandchildren and the great grandkids about being Chicano and what it means to each and everyone of us. We each have a story to tell and it needs to be shared. ❤️

I used to work in UFW with your dad and your uncle, even had goat roast in Encanto, I love them both. I love their music. One time at a fundraiser party in Old Town everyone stayed late and they were jamming, it was my birthday. They sang me a Johnny Cash medley. I felt so honored. I loved hearing about the indigenous guitars from Mexico.
My Grand kids played at the playground at Chica no park.Much pride from Fresno.
2022 and this song still bumps in my ride through out the central valley California is where the Culture will always remain strong 💪 😎✌️
RIP Chunky. Today we lost a barrio Logan legend. My heart breaks listening to this song now. Thank you for all the memories. #Raza!

Rest In Power, Chunky. We grew up listening to Los Alacranes on records. We always looked forward to visiting you and your family in San Diego, as we grew up as family and loved you all dearly. Thank you for the wonderful memories in my childhood. My condolences to all of the Sanchez family.
Que Viva EL Parque! Que Viva Ramon Chunky Sanchez!
Recuerdo a Chunky QPD y cuando vinieron a Cuernavaca, Morelos. Y juntos Alacranes Mojados y Mascarones grabamos un LP fabuloso, "Levántate Campesino".
We also have a Chicano Park in Austin, TX. Same vibes for generations. This is pretty cool.
I dedicate these sounds to my partner- Mr. Scorpio. Mi Dios Es Contigo Siempre.
Chunky was my little league coach in Encanto. He was a great man. Inspired us all. RIP mi hermano

That’s so not right. I remember being Chicano in the early 70’s in LA and we weren’t allow to do much bc we were seen as undesirables. Then the riots came thru our small Hispanic community of Wilmington California. My dad’s friend who owned a liquor Store on Avalon Blvd put up signs in front saying, I am Chicano. 😂 VIVA LA RAZA!
just heard this song on way to work today, tells a good story, STAND PROUD !!

This song alone makes me Proud to be born and raised in San Diego at a time when it still had rich roots. Before gentrification began. Very different city now since 2012 a lot of Hispanic native generations had to leave. Nonetheless if you were there before all that you are one of the few that know San Diego for what it really was
Viva mi RAZA COSMICA (all colors in)!
