Naturally this is one of my favorite clips ever! Thanks for bringing it to our attention to enjoy again tonight! Michael was being celebrated and I love how he was seated next to Lorne for the event. That "Son" moment when Michael got up and hugged him 😭, that great handshake and embrace at the end followed by Michael suddenly getting up to get Lorne's chair for him (such a sweet gesture!), and all the funny jokes and warm and gushy JPM goodness in between! Every time I see this I'm struck by how good Lorne looks! The best he ever looked! Tan, slim, and that sauve mustache! The rest he got from "Bonanza" ending sure did him good!

Hey, just wanted to let you know that I had to delete the Bonanza outtakes due to an "issue" with the DVD producer telling me he would do a copyright strike. It's a long story... but I'm glad you saw them prior. They are actually on Amazon Prime Video so if you want to see them again, they are there!! Let me know and I'll tell you where to find them.

The best part is when he says sit up straight put on your shoes put the cigarettes away and when he called him son and when he said he never thinks of me he didn't call me on father's day and when he said where did i go wrong and when michael loosened the brakes on his car

Fun trivia fact: While Bonanza was in the pre-production stages, Lorne Greene was offered his choice of roles - either the father Ben Cartwright or the eldest son Adam Cartwright. Lorne asked his friend Leslie Nielsen which role he should take. Leslie said, “There’s no way for you to emerge without a tremendous position of significance in the show. ... Probably all four of you will achieve equal prominence. But of the four of you, the only one who can achieve the most prominence is yourself because you’re the father and they’re all three tied to you. ... I wouldn’t even give it a second thought.” On Leslie's advice, Lorne decided to play Ben Cartwright.

Pure class from a very dignified man.

So cute and funny! Michael’s face at the line about the 47-year-old father and three forty-year-old sons living together was so funny! Lorne seemed like a classy man, and I’m glad that Michael found a loving friend and father figure on the Bonanza set.
