I loved your reaction! I really appreciate, even though its not your favorite musicgenre you still appreciate the talent behind it. Few weeks ago i've seen them live. I was still on a cloud from Epica's performance right before them, then got my face screamed off by Will Ramos ( this lead singer) and i loved every second of it! It was an amazing experience.

Haha fun reaction man! Often when people dip their toes into extreme metal they keep asking "how do you understand the lyrics" but I've been a metal head for many years and if I'm honest I've never understood most of the lyrics of a band like Lorna Shore. Unlike other styles, the lyrics of metal (while often potent and carefully written) are not at all the focal point. Instead, focus on the many layers of the music, the way the guitars interweave, the different textures and moments in each part of the song. Metal is, at it's heart, a projection of power. The key for me was to learn to embrace and appreciate the millions of little elements intertwining to create this overwhelming tapestry of sonic intensity. Metal is exceptionally musically complex but is often misinterpreted as "noise" because it is such an assault to the senses. Based on your reaction, you may be just a few songs away from becoming a metalhead yourself 😋

I feel about the same here. Vocals are just another instrument and I care for the lyrics about as much as I do sheet music notation or chord progressions.

Austin Archey, the drummer, is a freaking maniac, dude. I don't know how the man has the energy to pound those drums the way that he does for 6-7 minutes non stop.

I went to a Lorna Shore show earlier this month, and it was one of the loudest shows I have ever been to. It was absolutely fantastic! If you really want to see just how insanely talented Will, the vocalist is, he has his own KZread channel where he posts one-take performances of Lorna Shore songs

The crazy thing is the lyrics are really good, poetic, he has so many good songs and if you pull the lyrics up and follow and listen you start to hear every word, if you do anymore i would suggest doing the trilogy, or if you really want to be mind blown pull up his sleep token cover

5 seconds into the video and already hit that thumbs up and subscribed. You picked the ultimate beast mode Lorna Shore song, one of my absolute favorites. I commend you sir. \m/ Will Ramos (the singer) is an absolute sweetheart in person. I just went to a Lorna Shore concert a few months ago and the mutual love and respect among the concert goers despite the moshing and crowd surfing is something best experienced in person. Will kept reminding the crowd to drink their water because he didn't want to see anyone getting dehydrated. It was lovely. Metal concerts are one of the few scenarios that don't trigger my social anxiety.

Crazy to see how far this band has come since their EP back in the day.

I'm seeing these guys live next week and I cannot wait. On the understanding the lyrics part, once your ear is trained enough you can pick a lot of stuff out but it depends on the vocalists delivery, some are easier than others to understand and some are straight unintelligible. That said, with metal although still an important role the vocals aren't always the main driving force of the song, they're often just used as another layer of instrumentation and are much more part of the overall composition. This is why they tend to sit further back in the mix as compared to a pop song where they're the central focus point.

I love this dudes reaction..priceless...I saw Lorna Shore in Birmingham at the end of November and the whole band, not just Will but the WHOLE Band sound utterly Authentic and are just a Brutal assault on the senses that's hard to put into words.....let's just say F**KING HELL, IT'S IMPESSIVE. Yea I’d shoot for Wrath or the Pain Remains Trilogy. 100% correct too. You get an ear for it. Plus it’s not like we don’t scream along to our favorite songs anyway. Dude this kinda stuff live is something that you NEED to experience. The shows are cheap, the people are FANTASTIC(like some of the nicest people you’ll meet at a show) and the energy is out of this world. If you are still worried I’ll tell you from experience, if and when you fall down people will stop and have you picked back up to your feet before you even realize you fell down! Just go and have a blast

It’s really best to read along with the lyrics first few times and you’ll be amazed how clear the lyrics actually become man. This lead singer will Ramos is really shaking up deathcore on how much you can actually feel. Also the lead singer is the biggest teddy bear you’ll ever meet super chill down to earth guy!

My favorite thing about people reacting to this song is people thinking Will must be super angry/edgy. He's such a soft puppy of a guy and his best internet friend is an opera singer with big mom energy.

Yeah you should check out the video that he did with Charismatic Voice where she put a camera into his throat to see what it looks like when he makes all the different crazy screams. It's a long video, but worth the time. If you want to just check out the part where they actually do it, it's a little over halfway through the video.

But like most things, you have to work up to it. The first time I heard Infant Annihilator I was like "that's barely music at all" and now I listen to it on my way to work every day 🤣 this vocalist Will Ramos was heavily inspired by Infant Annihilator's vocalist Dickie Allen.
