LoreWarrior Online - Clan Cloud Cobra

Ойындар

The religious warriors of the cloub cobra clan could be viewed as fantatics or zealots but that would be a mistake. Although deeply entrenched in their theological belief system the clan make for formidable foes and are even considered the most politically devious of the clans. Despite suffering some crucial losses in their time, the clan is a powerful proponent of aerotech forces and thus prefer to soften targets with air power before sending in the ground forces.

    +lord6617 Yeah I even locked her in the kitchen for the 5 minutes I was recording that bit and she still got on the audio. It's hard to tell when they are or aren't caught by the mic because whenever I start recording they pipe up. I think the tone of voice I use makes them think I am telling them off or something. That or they are just being bitches to me.

    healthyfire Thanks. I was recently looking at showing an amazon wishlist as a way of people (if they wanted to) show support for the channel without me taking cash etc. (personal home reasons I can't do that) but then the amazon wishlist shows personal details like name, addy and town etc.

    leakycheese Wouldn't work. I have looked into several avenues and all of them essentially boil down to me having to turn this into a job and earning enough from it each month to cover. But then I don't want to become one of those people who beg every video for viewers hard earned cash you know. I would feel bad and like I was trying to rip people off really.

    Okay wait. So Kerensky's followers - loyal and stalwart military folks all - left the inner sphere after terrible military campaigns. They travelled through unknown space for months, and suffered backbreaking hardships, and still had enough breeding populations of dangerous terran predators to release either the originals, or genetically altered versions, of them on their new worlds, such that they could then impress their nature upon the human groupings by dominating the local environments???

  • @CriticalRocket

    Some of them are modified variants. Some are native life to the clan worlds that were named after something terran in origin. Smoke Jaguars for instance are massive felines that are way more dangerous than anything on earth.

    They also seem to have had a *lot* of geneticists among the non-combatants they brought along, since it took them less than a generation to start fiddling with a human eugenics program that continues to the ilClan era. While that makes geneered animals a bit less implausible, it raises some real questions about what the hell SLDF R&D was getting up to prior to the League's collapse. Were they working on a secret super-soldier program even back then, and the Exodus just gave a bunch of scientists the opportunity to chuck ethics out the window by catering to the heads of a militarized culture (notably Nicholas Kerensky)? Going by the completely over-the-top mad science the Society got up during the Wars of Reaving era the Clans' Scientist caste doesn't seem to have cared much about morality, ethics, or their often-involuntary test subjects. I suppose it's possible that there's a more innocent explanation. Alexander Kerensky may have recruited civilians with specific skill sets to accompany him, and genetic engineers are folks that you'd want along for colonizing unknown worlds at the end of the trip so you could tweak your livestock (presumably carried as frozen embryos/eggs/sperm) and crops to suit local conditions. Kerensky knew he'd need to start bootstrap colonies eventually, and he was smart enough to grab any experts he might need. Must have been a fair few people in every field who looked at the League's disintegration and were looking for a way out of the impending storm, and just up and moving to Periphery wasn't really an option after what the Inner Sphere had done to those polities immediately prior to the Amaris War. Good way to get lynched, being an ex-League citizen out in the great beyond.

  • @CriticalRocket

    +VectorGhost It's basically the same principle as omnimechs in that they have pod space for weapon variations like their vehicle and 'mech cousins. Now that doesn't mean you can just slot in pod A and pod C to make some custom variant, MWO doesn't do the pod thing properly. But like omnimechs it allows pilots to go into battle using the configuration they think would work best for them.

  • @CriticalRocket

    @CriticalRocket

    VectorGhost The inner sphere lost tech because of the Succession Wars of which they had 4. The early wars caused a lot of destruction to infrastructure and the houses lost access to factories, computer systems and most importantly, trained labour who knew how to build this stuff. Eventually nukes were outlawed to prevent total collapse and the great houses settled into border skimishing and raids. The clans being the remnants of the SLDF kept their tech and through their rigid caste structure and battle rules that prevented mass warfare meant they could keep their tech and improve on it. The downside was their way of war was so strict it led to the clanner suffering shock and confusion when things like guerilla units formed, suicide bombers and partisan activity took place in captured territory. They had to adapt but it also meant they lost many units trying to do so and it and the great houses used their own rules against them to spring traps and steal tech.
