I lived in California between 2009-2013. I used to hear her "Euphoria" in the clubs in California. Even in Mexico clubs and in the Caribbean Cruise. But not on the charts..

Queen of Eurovision she is!!!!!

Eurovision has evolved a lot since 2012, but back then, this was SO unique. It was honest, raw, different, mysterious and about being who you are with NO compromises. That's why it became so huge, because it touched people, it was a song for everyone to connect with however they wanted. Loreen explains Euphoria as the moonlight and Tattoo as the sunrise. Both great songs and they won because they were right in timing I would say. What I mean is that I wouldn't be so sure Tattoo would have won back in 2012, same with Euphoria if it would have been in the competition this year. I could be wrong but looking back at Eurovision today, it was so different back in 2012. Great video, thanks for sharing 👏

All participating artist must sing live according to the rules. Backing vocals are allowed. That's why it's always a big surprice every year. When some artists you're really into display they can't sing. You can check out any live performance of her's. She always nails it.

Loreen is just perfection! Wish she got the attention she deserved. Btw, check her other well put together song for the same contest, it’s called Statements.

In Europe she did, Euphoria went on to chart in many countries and she became a Swedish pop icon. Just because it wasn’t heard in the US doesn’t mean it was a flop

You're not ignorant at all! I love how clean and fresh you dive into a song! Knowing the backstory is nice, but it definitely adds to the music and its meaning. Not knowing anything allows the music to stand alone and speak for itself - at times it could be more powerful, other times you realize the music is not so powerful without the backstory. Idk man I think euphoria increased the bar for the time that few Eurovision songs ever did. Tattoo is great but the entire continent was talking about euphoria nonstop. Both amazing songs!

So after a row with the mum about not being able to find work, eating too much, not exercising, etc etc etc, they come online, see your videos, see people loving them, and decide to piss on the parade. So I don't think it's anything personal.

Nothing more emotional than the 2013 Eurovision opening with the same song, got to check that version out too.

Plz watch 2015 version of Sweden’s Eurovision Song Contest

Because of social media platforms, the artists are getting noticed more by non-Eurovision viewers. For example, Rosalin's song SNAP blew up everywhere and is still playing on the radio here. Most people I talk to have no idea this song came out of Eurovision. ABBA & Celine Dion both won and look at how well their careers were, and this was pre internet & social media.

People can say wathever they want but, this is a stronger song than this year entry . This was really amazing!

Eurovision has its own official top 250 list with 40 new Eurovision songs eligible every year. This song was #1 on the Eurovision Top 250 for 10 years straight. Additionally, Loreen was sick during this and if you listen you can actually hear that she's a little bit stuffy. Believe it or not but the rehearsal version of this song is better than the final performance.

Always gives me chills.. She is a force to recon with. As for the judgment of a song is done by a jury and the public, so in the Eurovision finals you get two sets of points. I believe there are some vids outthere showing the points are given. Don't know how Sweden select their song, heard something abt several stages (any swedes, pls correct me). In Denmark we select ours on one night - jury and the public gets a say.

3:24 Thats true! I think America misses out on a lot of fun from Eurovision. But this year, countrys outside Europe will be allowed to vote, so maybe that will attract more attention. There are a couple Eurovision songs that are really popular tho, that you may have heard without knowing it’s from Eurovision.

The Eurovision Song Contest has been going on since the 50's. It is the worlds largest and most renowned song contest and the singing is all live performance. And you HAVE heard some of the songs... Some were taken by artists in the US and remade into American covers. Like. "Volare".. Frank Sinatra remade that one.. Etcetera.. And you've heard Celine Dion and Abba.. Both are winners of Eurovision.. And had their careers catapulted into stardom.

But one thing about this video, you notice that, despite being an amazing dancer, the dude wasn't the typical skinny/buff/half-naked dude. Loreen is all about body positivity, not just her own, but everyone's. In a recent video, a live version of 'Tattoo' and 'Is It Love?' in France that was filmed a few days ago, one of the dancers was a chubby dude with a bit of a boobage situation. To answer your question: I think the main reason Eurovision songs don’t enter into the American market is they’re typically not this good: It’s rarely the cream of the crop of European artists and songwriters who enter, so it’s usually quite the kitsch entertainment. Once in a blue moon someone like Loreen comes along with a song like this, but it’s very rare. So it's probably not something the American music industry pays any attention to. (The prime exception is of course ABBA, who won the competition in 1974 before they became the international phenomenon we now know them as. But really, the gems are few and far between.)

Well, the quality of songs has somewhat improved during the latest years. It was the decade of the early 2000s that had most kitschy songs, but then juries were back and we are back to better qualoty music. Eurovision is a mix of everything. Any listener can disocver new artists.

I love Loreen and I loved this song and I was proud for her winning it for Sweden. But sadly , nowdays I do not watch Eurovision anymore because I can not do that when I know a state is allowed to be in it that do both Apartheid system and Genocide against Palestine. The song is powerful not my cup of tea but VERY Eurovision However I find her dancing very distracting. Loreen was born of Moroccan parents in Sweden and I believe she incorporates Berber art and culture in her work.
