Loreal Vitamin C Serum and Sunscreen Review - Weeklong Test

In this video, I put Loreal's Vitamin C Serum and Sunscreen to the test and share my thoughts after using them for a week. As a pharmacist specialized in cosmetology, I provide an expert and honest review of both products, covering their ingredients, benefits, drawbacks, and my overall experience using them.
In the first section of the video, I review the Loreal Vitamin C Serum. While the serum contains a pure form of Vitamin C and Salicylic Acid, I didn't notice any significant difference in my complexion after using it for a week. It also has a strong fragrance that may not be suitable for people with sensitive skin. I recommend other Vitamin C serums, including the Geek and Gorgeous Vitamin C Serum and the Medicube Vitamin C Serum, both of which offer better results and are better suited for sensitive skin.
In the second section of the video, I review the Loreal Sunscreen. This sunscreen is lightweight, blends well, and leaves no white cast. It also offers high UVB and UVA protection with SPF 50 and broad-spectrum coverage. However, it contains Isopropyl Myristate, a comedogenic ingredient that may cause breakouts in some people. While I recommend this sunscreen overall, I wouldn't recommend it to people who are prone to breakouts.
In addition to my reviews, I also provide footage and visuals to help you see the products in action. If you're looking for a new Vitamin C serum or sunscreen to add to your skincare routine, be sure to watch this video to learn about Loreal's options and how they compare to other products on the market.

    One week is not enough time for any product to make a change in your skin. At least give it enough time for your skin cells to turnover lol. This reviewer must have an incredible sense of smell because I barely smell anything with this serum. The serum spreads nicely and you only need a couple of drops (in your palm - please everyone, stop dripping serums directly onto your face 🤦🏼). It has a nice % of vitamin C and it’s not irritating. Some cite the ph is too low for penetration but that is based on a study with only water and vitamin C and the vitamin C had to be ph of 3.5 to penetrate the skin. Serums are much more complex and have various ingred to help penetration and to allow the vit C to work better. I’m questioning how much education and knowledge this reviewer has in cosmetic/medical chemistry. I’m sure she’s a very capable pharmacist but the fact that’s she is a pharmacist does not give her this exposure unless she has taken other courses. Maybe she has, but the fact that she thinks her skin should have changed after 1 week suggests not. I suggest looking up Lab Muffin by Dr. Michelle Wong who has a PhD in Chemistry.

    But isn't 1 week not enough to see any reasonable result, especially from vit C?

    Hello, does the vitamin C serum peel off when you apply sunscreen or moisturizer on it? And does it leave a sticky feeling?♡♡🎈

  • @PharmacyMakeup

    @PharmacyMakeup

    Both serum and sunscreen absorb quickly without leaving a sticky finish. And I didn't experience any peeling when serum was the first and only layer on the skin and sunscreen the second. But when I had other products on, sunscreen did peel a little. :)

    I didn’t like this vitamin C serum at all. It is pilling just on it own (no other products, not too much applied at once..), since from the firts try, and doesn’t do anything else.

    Mine didn't pill after one layer of toner and one layer of glycolic acid 1% (L'Oréal Glycolic Bright). Wait länger between Applikationen, that always helps me wirh pillings. And I pat each layer in for at least 5 Minutes.

    1. You’re wearing makeup in the thumb nail 😂 2. You’re touching the dropper to your face which can cause bacteria to grow in the serum 3. Pretty sure it’s a shopped thumbnail lol
